My mother was a drug and alcohol counselor for years and she spent more time fighting with insurance to get just one or two more sessions for her patients than working with her clients. The insurance companies would either say-they aren't making enough progress -denied or they've made so much progress that they don't need treatment anymore.-denied.

That isn't necessarily a bad thing though. In Kansas City the line between govt. and the mob didn't really exist during the Great Depression through WW II.

The worst cops, IMO, are the Obies and Barneys. It is much harder to fix dedicated and friendly ineptitude than deliberate misbehavior.

There is also a lack of police accountability.

I have a sister in law who is a orange county sheriff. She puts up with so much danger it is unbelievable. I was a combat Marine and i would be more frightened in her job then in combat.
