@Beth Referring to oneself in the third person. He (I) likes that a lot.
Shes a rep from Hawaii not even governor. This string of poorly qualified candidates is not serving us well. But also you gotta chase those electorals that's why theres 8 potus from ohio and Virginia and 0 from many places.
@Dedkraken politics suck...
I guess? I dont necessarily agree that every likable politician should be POTUS
@busillis donations to politicians are going to a personal account..
Kinda the exceptions to the rule have so much charisma they sway lots of people like JFK. I think that's pretty rate now.
Did you see Trump bragging to got 250 million going straight to his family 😂
@Dedkraken when NyC was lockdown.. there was a assemblywoman around my neighborhood was giving bag of food to the most needed in her office. The lines wrapped around the corner... some politicians like this i might be inclined to give a donation
After complaining about Hunter getting a job on daddies name they turned around and enabled all the Trump kids to have million dollar salaries for life for not having a job 🤣
@Dedkraken havent seen that one. For sure... he will be paying all his debts..
Tulsi and Yang, both not of the party orthodoxy or anointed by the party bosses. Bad.
Well he cant like tap the full amount and pay off debt but he can dole out million dollar salaries for no job. We will see if he goes so far even the incredibly lax rules surrounding dark money isnt goid enough for him
Yangs tax plan is meh
I was thinking there would be a Ubi with a caveat of service of of some sort. Might as well experiment, it would be hard to believe that anybody could screw things up much more than
Do you think after Trump leaves office someone is going to leak his tax returns???
they currently are.
And trying to bust him for some nefarious something.
The fact is all the living presidents could be tried as war criminals, but that's not important.
Its not an obsession.. is just that people let him get away with so many things. . That with other presidents would have been. Their careers. and the support he got for all the dangerous things he said and no consequences
so...pretty much the same as most presidents.
I get that, I just don't see how it moves the agenda of the people forward, for that matter I don't see the people's agenda getting moved forward at all, I see the agenda of the corporations being of primary concern.
There are two possible reasons why heads of state are very rarely arrested after leaving office:
1) They are extremely honest
2) They are able to avoid prosecution
I will let you decide for yourself which one is more probable.
@busillis he always said corporations move economies not regular joes . With his small store.
@Doc I like the corporations letting the government know what I'm going to do, it makes it easier that way.
Or no one would want to be a head of state if you prosecuted your heads of state after their terms... is more likely
No one with any credentials or morals wants to be a head of state anyway, leave that for the psychopaths.
@MatiLuc I would have pulled up something better but I'm searching and Google so...
@Soburin which would be a subclass of "able to avoid prosecution" I would say.
Regarding inverted totalitarianism
able to avoid prosecution implies it's the individuals effort to do so. It's not. It's a procedural necessity to have a head of state at all.
When asked why there are so few great heads of state, Napoleon is said to have replied: "To become a head of state, you have to display absolute pettiness. To become a great head of state, you need to display absolute greatness. Those two qualities are very rarely found in one man. "
Absolute Immunity is a wonderful Tool...
Its never absolute. Just ask Gitler and Mussolini
@William Dinan everybody should have absolute immunity...
That was a joke.
or a reference to the movie Purge.
