Naw.
I wander.
You bring a lot of wisdom to the discussion.
That is my purpose, yes, so I am glad to hear that.
And wisdom, mind you, transcends human hierarchies.
wisdom is the antidote for the hierarchy
It's something I consider invaluable. Now, don't go around breaking rules because those are principles that supersede usefulness!
No get out of jail free cards for you.
Nor anyone.
I dont break rules unless they are in conflict with my own laws.
I am obligated to be a good guest. By my faith.
I know, just felt obligated to point that out lest I get more accusations of bias tossed at me.
Some people confuse this with being a sycophant. They are sometimes surprised by me. 😄
This all kind of relates to a phenomenon that I coined as the "lottery mentality" here in America. I noticed it first in the 80's when Reagan convinced everyone to go along with Trickle Down Economics - "If you had a pile of money, wouldn't you want to keep it rather than having to give it all to the government?" Very few of us will ever be in that position, but we can all identify with how we might feel if we were.
The argument worked so well, that it has started to permeate our culture. By focusing on the marginal (almost minuscule) aberrations, opinions about issues can be swayed:
- The exceedingly few violent criminals that cross our border to the south become representative of all undocumented immigrants.
- The exceedingly few individuals that commit horrific mass shootings become representative of all gun owners - especially those with AR's
- The exceedingly few abortions that are horrifically performed late in pregnancy are representative of all abortions
- The exceedingly few white supremacists represent all conservatives
- The exceedingly few Antifa members that commit violent acts represent all seeking social justice
- The exceedingly few Muslim extremists that perpetrated the 9/11 attacks represent all Muslims
We use this approach for everything. We have become paralyzed as a nation because we allow ourselves to be polarized by fringe issues. We use the abhorrently abnormal minority to affect our treatment of the decently normal vast majority.
And confused....
The golden rooster might still crow.
Is that a narcolepsy dig? Or are you hinting that I am missing the point?
(He's probably not saying that)
@TaLoN132 It is written that when the enemy gather their forces for one last slaughter, everyone is asleep and unaware,
Only the rooster Gullinkambe wakes up, and crows.
That wakes Heimdall, who then blows his horn of alarm, Gjallarhorn.
I am saying that americans are, after 60 years of being lulled to sleep by consumer goods, so deep asleep, they are unable to distinguish the righteous from the worm-tongue and friend from foe.
I think I get it... We need a golden rooster.
you already have one.
It isnt really that hard to see if the man in front of you is decent or not. Just look for his virtues, and you see those in his actions.
Instead, people now look at his golden trinkets.
That is the only error that needs correcting. Everything else will follow.
Look for scars, not for golden coins and popularity.
Look at Roberts Mom. Do you see strength?
Absolutely.
I do too. A true matriarc.
Explains Roberts decency, does it not?
True
So...here we are, in his house.
No coincience.
No coincidence.
