Oh. It is. What was I thinking of? <:pepestressed:327933525124841482>
I mean who are you talking about
Sdeck?
@johndoerulez also i do gotta say if you're into punk, esp the crustier side of punk, cd-r is a really common media there
for the really underground shit
Punk is dead
And also garbage
Metal tapes are neat tho, I am pretty sure it was cost/ benefit that sunk them tho
Wasnt the main problem the chrome?
punk is alive and well you just aren't cool enough to find it :>
wrong john lol
@johndoerulez well also the horribly incredibly toxic chemicals involved in every step of producing them
Still the wrong john you demeted scaly
they were way more expensive to make than ferric though yeah
@johndoerulez too late, you're the new John
there's a company now trying to make a new hybrid ferric tape though, kinda like what type 3 tape tried to do
John Frum is dead, long live John Doe
but without the 70s-tier environmental damage
and some punk
tfw haven't touched physical media for anything in nearly 3 years
I installed Windows off a burnt DVD plugged into a USB DVD drive and that's all
I still dont see it gaining traction except maybe audiophiles but trying to market towards those people is a losing battle.
I only ever used CD-Rs to burn dreamcast games though
I used to use my old DS lite with a flashcart as an MP3 player
@Droidbot 's still the best way to experience some entirely new music to you since it kinda discourages skipping around to see if you like it, makes you listen all the way through
@Matthew remember the UI that made the bottom screen the iPod clickwheel?
That is literally the worst way to experiance music
or was that a certain firmware
idk
It makes something enjoyable into homework
Why
I usually listen through a whole album to see if I like it ambiently (like when I'm doing something) and if I like it I keep it
i mean after a certain point that's fun though
i don't really do background noise music
active listening only
listening to the same album ten times to pick it apart and really udnerstand it since you enjoyed it the first time through
