oh I have citizenship

2019-01-16 19:21:30 UTC

I was born with it

2019-01-16 19:21:31 UTC

Mine seems like it'll be easy, I'm just not sure about my wife and kids. I'm getting mine and my mom's first and going from there.

2019-01-16 19:21:38 UTC

it's just that I don't have the documents necessary to vote

2019-01-16 19:21:39 UTC

Oh, then you're set.

2019-01-16 19:21:44 UTC

well, I'm not

2019-01-16 19:22:10 UTC

it's not like in the US where you can just vote

2019-01-16 19:22:16 UTC

you have to have proper documentation

2019-01-16 19:22:28 UTC

Passport?

2019-01-16 19:22:31 UTC

yep

2019-01-16 19:23:31 UTC

How long is that supposed to take you @Jacob ? What's the hold up?

2019-01-16 19:24:18 UTC

it shouldn't take long

2019-01-16 19:24:38 UTC

it's just that I'm a poor college student and I can't afford to take a trip to the embassy just like that

2019-01-16 19:25:18 UTC

I bugged my parents about it my entire life and they had a billion opportunities to just get me a passport made but they never did

2019-01-16 19:26:03 UTC

literally voter suppression lmao

2019-01-16 19:28:24 UTC

Got a government no-fee passport yesterday

2019-01-16 19:28:26 UTC

Wheres the nearest embassy or consulate? Sometimes they have temporary ones in areas to reach people who are far from them. I'd check the schedule.

2019-01-16 19:28:59 UTC

yes they do have temporary ones in Seattle I think

2019-01-16 19:29:03 UTC

@Lawrence of Eurabia what do you mean no fee?

2019-01-16 19:29:11 UTC

but I mean it's kinda hard to make that work out with my schedule

2019-01-16 19:29:18 UTC

there's an embassy in Los Angeles

2019-01-16 19:29:22 UTC

Red Passport, government issue

2019-01-16 19:29:38 UTC

wait no it's a consulate

2019-01-16 19:29:41 UTC

but that should be enough

2019-01-16 19:29:46 UTC

I just renewed my family's and it was about $500 total.

2019-01-16 19:29:50 UTC

There's also a consulate in Vancouver, Canada

2019-01-16 19:29:50 UTC

What's the red one for?

2019-01-16 19:30:06 UTC

Military?

2019-01-16 19:30:21 UTC

Military usually, or sometimes minor political stuff

2019-01-16 19:30:35 UTC

I wonder if they'd let me get my passport at the consulate in Canada. Theoretically, it shouldn't matter if it's the US or not, because, in their eyes, I'm not a US citizen.

2019-01-16 19:30:46 UTC

That makes sense. Didn't know there was a difference.

2019-01-16 19:31:02 UTC

It should be fine, but you should call them first.

2019-01-16 19:31:19 UTC

Vancouver is still kind of a pain in the ass for me to get to

2019-01-16 19:31:29 UTC

Show up claiming knowledge of a US attack on Poland

2019-01-16 19:31:35 UTC

lmao

2019-01-16 19:31:50 UTC

Wag the dog

2019-01-16 19:31:59 UTC

"the US government is planning genocide against us"

2019-01-16 19:32:03 UTC

"wait what how?"

2019-01-16 19:32:17 UTC

"by promoting diversity"
