oh boy.. i have started hate ruby as much as nodejs bullshit more i play with these "cool kid toys"

2019-02-27 09:17:21 UTC

if there is "too far" on abusing the" linux mentality " of small dedicated programs for small tasks

2019-02-27 09:17:35 UTC

its fucking setting up these different plantforms

2019-02-27 09:18:38 UTC

Meanwhile I'm trying to figure out how the fuck do I upgrade fontawesome pro without having access to the key or anything

2019-02-27 09:19:21 UTC

love these "fuck this i just reflash this shit with clean image" moments in my life

2019-02-27 09:20:58 UTC

Tervy confirmed flasher.

2019-02-27 09:22:23 UTC

worst part there is that windows is so fucking bad with filesystems

2019-02-27 09:22:33 UTC

that i need to switch OS to fidle with these partitions etc

2019-02-27 09:26:17 UTC

only positive side they did on win10 is that it supports the filesystems slightly better

2019-02-27 09:26:22 UTC

even tho still being absurd pile of shit

2019-02-27 10:18:12 UTC

I got a Logitech G305 last week and it's fucking 10/10 especially considering how cheap it is (£34). This "Lightspeed" wireless tech they're shilling actually isn't bullshit, there's no detectable input lag and it's amazing

2019-02-27 11:04:34 UTC

one pays for that

2019-02-27 11:05:41 UTC

ps.never submit your stuff to that system unless you are forced

2019-02-27 11:06:37 UTC

be sure to license your schoolwork under the GPL <:alismirk:230784726615588865>

2019-02-27 11:07:18 UTC

cant remember how much access to urkund costs but its quite fucking steep for such shiit´t

2019-02-27 11:09:43 UTC

>tfw scored 0 on my thesis in our anti theft system

2019-02-27 11:09:58 UTC

I guess posting code as images helped quite a lot because they didn't had any OCR

2019-02-27 11:10:24 UTC

I think mine was around same size

2019-02-27 11:10:28 UTC

Lol code as images

2019-02-27 11:10:29 UTC

Probably 40cm-ish

2019-02-27 11:10:50 UTC

Had to take a break at around 30cm, burped few times and managed to finish it

2019-02-27 11:10:55 UTC

But god damn did I feel stuffed afterwards

2019-02-27 11:11:30 UTC

Also the idea about code as images is that you can write hello world finite amount of times so why bump up the plagiarism meter needlessly

2019-02-27 11:12:11 UTC

>they dont know how to counter anti plagiarism stuff with cyrillic letters

2019-02-27 11:12:30 UTC

And if you can only do 1 task in one specific way, and someone did a thesis about similair that's also needlessly bumping plagiarism meter

2019-02-27 11:12:46 UTC

@Julian except I asked the person who helped me with the thesis and he said it's outdated

I think from memory it's like $4000/year and you get a discount if you offer student work to their db

2019-02-27 11:56:17 UTC

Turnitin is fucking useless too, literally ended up with a 20% plagiarism score on one essay because it scanned my whole bibliography

2019-02-27 11:58:17 UTC

Whole essay was perfect and completely authentic but it picked up like 3 quotes and my whole references section even with "Include Bibliography" turned off

2019-02-27 11:58:23 UTC

Quality piece of software

2019-02-27 11:59:30 UTC

all of them are just snakeoil products

2019-02-27 11:59:56 UTC

well not snakeoil

2019-02-27 12:00:08 UTC

they lessen work of teachers so they dont need to read or validate your work

2019-02-27 12:00:18 UTC

nor stay up to date on their field that much

2019-02-27 12:01:54 UTC

Oh of course it's snakeoil but I never used it much

2019-02-27 12:02:34 UTC

Only a minority of classes actually used it especially since it would spit out major plagiarism scores for literally every assignment in certain fields (eg Modern History)

2019-02-27 12:02:52 UTC

So I only have experience with using it a couple times
