Self determination, the EU forming its own army, the lack of representation at the EU council...the list goes on..England wasn't the first attempt to leave the EU. France and the Netherlands tried previously. England was the first (so far) that has been allowed to escape

Ireland has a lot of discontent too

in the case of France and the Netherlands, they just kept running referendums until they got the result they wanted
