Zaggy you're in the minority there, I don't find actual slavery "cool".
Mark 6:30-56; 2 Samuel 16; Daniel 10
```Dust
<42> And all ate and were filled; <43> and they took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish. <44> Those who had eaten the loaves numbered five thousand men. <45> Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. <46> After saying farewell to them, he went up on the mountain to pray. <47> When evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land. <48> When he saw that they were straining at the oars against an adverse wind, he came towards them early in the morning, walking on the sea. He intended to pass them by. <49> But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out; <50> for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid." <51> Then he got into the boat with them and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, <52> for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened. <53> When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored the boat. <54> When they got out of the boat, people at once recognized him, <55> and rushed about that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. <56> And wherever he went, into villages or cities or farms, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch even the fringe of his cloak; and all who touched it were healed. ```
James 3: 9-10 With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, this should not be!
@Bibleman You make some good points on Nephilim however it ia the Hebrew word and thus more accurate than using the English word for it which is always questionable as to the true meaning of the Hebrew.
There are many reasons people do not believe in Enoch and Jasher. But most believe in neither at least in America and Europe. Without them it is difficult to understand what this passage means.
Genesis 6:4 NIV
**Genesis 6:4 - New International Version (NIV)**
```Dust
<4> The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. ```
Corrupt council of men removes those books and oppresses real Christians, they must be legit, right?
@Bibleman Agreed @Derek Nelson Fantastic FE verse brother
I have problems with both of them. Nothing to do with the council. I detest it. I so wish we had most of what they removed and did a through job of removing, Some of what they say simply does not make sense to me. Like Jasher making the members of the 12 tribes into superheroes with super powers. The giants also having super powers over and above the advantages of having that strength that would come from a large body.
I prefer to believe that our God is a God of love. Not a God of war. I prefer the Genesis account where Jacob has his sons repent for murdering all the men in an entire city for simply taking their sister into marriage in a way they disapproved of. She seemed OK with it. Also they seemed OK with taking the women there as wives. After all they did not murder the women and children. So what became of them.
With Enoch the problem I have is related. I see God as a God of love with total consensus of the mind in Heaven. I believe once you come to a full understanding of the love that is in Heaven you would not be allowed to simply leave it and use the power of Heaven to enslave people on earth. I do not personally believe that the Council of Heaven has huge conflicts within it that would allow fallen angels to fall while maintaining all the power of Heaven. Or at least a lot of it.
I find it more likely that wayaietgu means these fallen ones were born of women. Not that they married women in their Heavenly form. I believe they became children with no more power than other children. Though most likely they did have a superior personality and were very smart.
Satan/Lucifer/Devil I believe they are real as men see it. Feel it and are possessed by it. They worship it even. So to say that it simply does not exist is to ignore reality as I see it. However I do not ignore the power of the Council in Heaven. I believe it exercised power over it. Restricts it to whatever level they see fit in each situation. Why calling out to God, Jesus, Yehovah, or however we see God works to free us from bondage to it in many cases.
Oh, a long explanation for the sethite view, a nonsense 5th century philosophy that goes against everything biblical
I utterly reject that.
