nah
A lot of church doctrines are false, but the teaching of Jesus and Jesus himself are true
The Bible teaches that the dead await to he resurrected, not that we go to a sky castle
There are a lot of people who dispute ressurection, what it is. When it will happen. Ezekiel writes prior to the second coming and names King David as being one to be resurrected. Putting flesh back on bones and such.
I found few Christians who really believed that from Ezekiel.
I agree there is no solid proof from the Bible one way or the other on Resurrection. For me it is more about I am a parent and love my children. I would give them numerous chances to get it right. Why would not our Creator also give us many chances to get it right? Why would our creator punish any child for the sins of his parent or great grandparent. To me that makes no sense at all. However paying the price for our own sins. That makes sense to me.
I think the passages on this are left up to us figuring out the mystery within them.
When I died I was judged. God sent me back per our agreement. But it was this ultra loving God giving me the choice. Coming back or being born to a better set of parents. I understand others went through this and were never told they would be reincarnated. Why. Well God does not tell us what to believe in these. He just goes with our beliefs. Being very careful for us to maintain free agency.
Why would a logical creator have a religion or favor one religion over the other? I’m sure if it was real, it would judge you from the good and bad things you have done in your life not for “believing” it for following a religion. Why would a God even choose to punish you eternally instead of giving you lots of chances to get it right? Why worship something that is evil and would burn you and your kids if you did something that would upset them. I thought God was all about forgiveness.
@tripp We are more similar in belief it seems to me.
I question the Bible a lot. However I find it more valid than other religious documents. I mostly like Moses, Isaiah and Jeremiah. I do not trust the New Testament all that much.
I do not believe God punishes us eternally. I believe God sends us back to earth and if we were evil we are born to bad parents and we suffer in that way. I also believe God will have us born with abnormalities to help us learn how to be better. Everything done out of pure love.
The Christian God is about love and forgiveness––the Vatican invented the concept of hell after the Romans hikacked Christianity.
I trust history far less than the Bible. Personally I do not believe at all the history in the Bible. Not one whit of it. I think it is all a lie. Perhaps some of those things sort of happened but not as told and when we are told it occured.
@Steve Angell So you believe in reincarnation? Since you would think that God would send us back to earth to test us and acting as a temporary punishment for evil or bad deeds done in the past lives?
A lot of the Bible is based on Jewish Law and Greek mythology, however Christ was real and many events within the Bible were also but over time the names of places were changed as well as names of people and much more.
Yes. Perhaps many lifetimes for really bad sins.
```Roman Historian Cornelius Tacitus
(c. A.D. 55-120) on the account of Christ:
"But not all the relief that could come from man, not all the bounties that the price could bestow, nor all the atonements which could be presented to the gods, availed to relieve Nero from the infamy of being believed to have ordered the conflagration, the fire of Rome. Hence to suppress the rumor, he falsely charged with the guilt, and punished with the most exquisite tortures, the persons commonly called Christians, who were hated for their enormities. Christus, the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius: but the pernicious superstition, repressed for a time, broke out again, not only through Judea, where the mischief originated, but through the city of Rome also.” (Annals XV, 44)1.```
```Another secular authority, Phlegon, wrote a book entitled Chronicles, which was quoted by Julius Africanus. Like Thallus, Phiegon acknowledges that a darkness fell upon the land about the time of Christ’s death, and like Thallus he attributes this to a solar eclipse:
“During the time of Tiberius Caesar an eclipse of the sun occurred during the full moon.” (Africanus, Chronography, 18.1)```
Yes I believe there was a Jesus Christ figure. Dates are lies and such. I believe many of the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament are valid.
So you see, Christianity was adopted by the Roman Empire after years of persecution in order to quell the rioting that followed his crucification, only they edited things and made their own version of it, called Catholicism.
I posted a video in civil debate. Watch it and he makes many points from a book which was written about true history and how it was erased for many reasons. Seems far more valid than the history we are taught.
I make no claim to know how it works.
What you ought to focus on is the mysticism and the metaphysical, or the symbolism and proto-psychology of Christianity—the wisdom.
I think Psalms is the best place to go to for wisdom and how to get it although start with Proverbs.
```In regards to "Symtheism" or Symbolic Christianity:
1) The personification of God in the Bible is a literary device,
2) God’s only consciousness is our collective consciousness (Society),
3) Miracles are the result of the laws of physics not in exception to them,
4) The actual (in reality) resurrection of Christ not necessary (in complete disagreement with Paul),
5) Spirit not a disembodied persona but merely the impact of one’s life on society,
6) Belief in Scriptural (OT) heaven and hell not Catholicism constructed heaven and hell,
7) Recognition of Bible being a construct of the Catholic Church,
8) Gospel of John written with a political agenda as priority,
9) Recognition that “Paul” hijacked Christianity,
10) Almost all prophesies have been fulfilled such that there’s nothing to be waiting on like a 2nd coming or “rapture”.```
@Steve Angell Ever beard about the reincarnation trap? There’s a theory that goes on saying that our consciousness becomes trapped and always get recycled back to earth.
Funny that Resurrection in Western Christianity can be parallel with Eastern Hinduism's reincarnation—Gnosticism is about escaping reincarnation, just as Buddhism is focused on escaping the wheel of life.
I do not believe in the ressurection of Jesus. Do not believe it happened. Primary reason. Mark was the first Gospel written and no body found but also he was not resurrected. They added that to it much later on.
In a more logical manner, resurrection or reincarnation of the soul can be witnessed by transfer of personality, or the incarnation of specific psychological archetypes—such as the traits of Judas or Lucifer.
Yes going on to Heaven though these people are deceived as i see it. They would want to be reincarnated if they knew what love really was. To help others on earth.
Those personality-type quizzes you took in school were a way for the system to see into your psyche and figure out what kind of soul you house.
If God gave me the choice. I believe he will at some point. I would choose to come back and help people. Not go to Heaven where I could do less to help.
Think of Heaven as being stuck in church for an eternity—of course no-one would want that. Even if it was a state of spiritual bliss, eventually it would have to grow tiresome, and boring without any drama. Also, without contrasts like suffering, happiness is a lot less enjoyable—without duality it is diluted.
The bible does not tell us we are going to heaven rather it says Gods kingdom is coming to earth.
Not at all what I think of Heaven. As I see it there is the Council of Heaven. Yehovah of Hosts. All there work together and they are who Yehovah (God ) is. Not a single entity. They are continually Creating earths and adding to the number in Heaven. If you do get board there you can come back to earth. Be born and learn how to have pure love again. I have no doubt some do that.
No beginning and no end.
John 14 and 17 say Jesus returned to be One with the Father and we all can do that. What I think people think Heaven is.
You might need John 7 for some of that.
Steve that view sounds very new ageish to me friend
@Steve Angell Are you a Mormon? 👀
Aye Enn or mormon as well I had forgotten about that
I was for 58 years. I am now 66. Very active most of that time.
That is not what they believe. They believe God and Jesus have bodies of flesh and bone. I believe all in Heaven are spirits.
