aka Israel
or so that's the translation you know at least
I agree that if you study hard then God will help you progress and know God a lot more and be a lot closer to God. I give God the credit.
Genesis 32:28
**Genesis 32:28 - King James Version (KJV)**
```Dust
<28> And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. ```
Genesis 32:28 cjb
**Genesis 32:28 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust
<28> Then the man said, "You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with humans, and have prevailed." ```
But look in your KJV and see that Israel is italicized, which means translated from original source
And He said, “Your name is no longer called Ya‛aqoḇ, but Yisra’ěl,
What the real names were. Transliteration is false and very wrong and evil to do.
The KJV lies when they call that translation.
We call Netanyahu just that. We do not transliterate the name into some English name.
people always say things like that, but it's just translations
the only "lie" i can think of it using "the LORD" instead of God's name.
No Transliteration. Not translation. They admit it was transliteration. I say that is evil.
so using letters not in other alphabets is evil
wut
Call Netanyahu Nathan and see how that goes.
it's how people would pronounce things differently
Yaakov you mean
H3290
יַעֲקֹב
ya‛ăqôb
it's pronounciation of words used by people over time that has changed
that isn;t evil
Most likely pronounced Yahcob. I would have no problem if they translated it properly.
the hebrew letter Bet is pronounced as a B when used in the front of a word and as a V when at the back of a word
But they know full well that Jacob was not what it was. They know full well Yisrael. Yet they transliterate anyway. They even change Iakob (Jacob) to James to honor King James. Who else are they honoring?
really? to honor King James?
have you read any older bible than KJV
Now I understand it could be Jacob or Iacob because it is hard to know I or J as originally they were the same letter.
it's simply the pronounciations changing over the years as languages changed, the 1526 Tyndale has the names all different too
Changing Jacob to James. Come on.
time passes and pronounciations of words change as time progresses because of languages
King James. Come on be reasonable.
this hebrew word movement is a distraction to keep you focused on that rather than more pressing matters
to jews you become as a jew, to gentiles you become as a gentile
this is a pointless debate
In Greek
H3290
יַעֲקֹב
ya‛ăqôb
Jacob.
Should I go to church this week?
