a sword...

2019-06-12 05:48:24 UTC

If Roman soldiers had guns, bringing a sword wouldn’t be applicable.

2019-06-12 06:06:50 UTC

Rektum? you still in here?

2019-06-12 06:40:39 UTC

That one. ^

2019-06-12 06:46:33 UTC

i can't see mount rainier from vancouver at ground level, but when i get on a plane and go up, i can see it on the horizon

When we elevate and look down, this walkway, and building can be seen as entirely flat. There’s a perspective ramp we see to a point that does block the bases of distant buildings.

2019-06-12 06:50:33 UTC

cameras can make things look weird @the first image

2019-06-12 06:50:52 UTC

If the curve existed in the first image, we would see it in the second.

2019-06-12 06:51:03 UTC

the curve does exist in the first image

2019-06-12 06:51:22 UTC

It’s like saying we can see curve on a basketball close up, but not when we elevate the camera off it.

2019-06-12 06:52:18 UTC

if you go up high enough, you will see the curve

2019-06-12 06:52:43 UTC

We do actually see the curve in the second imagine and we can tell it's not a fish eye

2019-06-12 06:53:23 UTC

Oh really, April?

2019-06-12 06:53:26 UTC

rockets don't go straight up for a reason, it's inefficient

2019-06-12 06:53:26 UTC

Where?

2019-06-12 06:53:38 UTC

basic optics

2019-06-12 06:53:58 UTC

the effect on the first image is called fish eye, it creates a distorted view of the bridge

2019-06-12 06:54:12 UTC

Near the horizon it's not too noticeable the curve is a small curve due to how big the earth is

2019-06-12 06:54:18 UTC

The first image isn’t fisheye.

2019-06-12 06:54:19 UTC

it looks flat in the second photo because you're above and the earth is kinda big relative to the bridge

2019-06-12 06:54:22 UTC

it is though

2019-06-12 06:54:36 UTC

It’s Soundly’s photograph.

2019-06-12 06:55:42 UTC

If we can see curve at surface level, we absolutely would see it at higher elevation.

2019-06-12 06:55:48 UTC

Period.
