Appeal to Authority
argumentum ad verecundiam

(also known as: argument from authority, ipse dixit)

Description: Insisting that a claim is true simply because a valid authority or expert on the issue said it was true, without any other supporting evidence offered. Also see the appeal to false authority.

Logical Form:

According to person 1, who is an expert on the issue of Y, Y is true.

Therefore, Y is true.

Example #1:

Richard Dawkins, an evolutionary biologist and perhaps the foremost expert in the field, says that evolution is true. Therefore, it's true.

Explanation: Richard Dawkins certainly knows about evolution, and he can confidently tell us that it is true, but that doesn't make it true. What makes it true is the preponderance of evidence for the theory.

Temperature and pressure are directly proportional to each other. This means that as the temperature decreases, the pressure also decreases, and as the temperature increases, the pressure increases.
A well-known result from statistical mechanics is the ideal gas law,

PV=nRT
which comes in a variety of forms. Here, n denotes the amount of gas, R is a constant, T is the temperature, V the volume and P the pressure.

If you increase the temperature, either the volume, the pressure or both must increase proportionally. If the balloon cannot expand, the volume cannot increase; thus, the pressure will increase (with nRV per degree). If there is a certain degree of elasticity, the volume may increase somewhat; however, not following the ideal gas law. As an astronomer, I have not worked with elasticities much, so an applied physicist can probably help you further.

he speed of light in a substance is slower than in a vacuum since the light is being absorbed and reemitted by the atoms in the sample. Since the density of a liquid usually decreases with temperature, it is not surprising that the speed of light in a liquid will normally increase as the temperature increases. Thus, the index of refraction normally decreases as the temperature increases for a liquid. For many organic liquids the index of refraction decreases by approximately 0.0005 for every 1 °C increase in temperature. However for water the variation is only about -0.0001/°C.

Where physical evidence is lacking, artists tend to speculatively fill in other details with details from species with similar bone structures, or those known to be related to those animals!

2019-06-24 01:40:37 UTC

Also, most animals share the majority of their DNA!

2019-06-24 01:43:44 UTC

We also share a majority of our DNA with bananas.

2019-06-24 01:46:09 UTC

All these things on earth sharing a large amount of code.

2019-06-24 01:46:26 UTC

Almost like we all share a Coder.

2019-06-24 01:46:36 UTC

Or Creator.

2019-06-24 01:47:03 UTC

Why would a code not have a coder?
