I'm asking you...do you think something can go faster than the speed of light? Because the speed of light is a property of spacetime. Not light. So if there's no spacetime why does light have a speed?

2019-05-23 04:37:04 UTC

I’m asking for proof.

2019-05-23 04:37:30 UTC

I’m not interested in sharing a theoretical discourse.

2019-05-23 04:59:13 UTC

Light has a speed...so something gives it that speed.

2019-05-23 04:59:22 UTC

And the word for that something is spacetime.

2019-05-23 05:02:51 UTC

Like you want proof for spacetime as it's described? That's not how it works. Spacetime wasn't invented and then we went looking for it. We observed a thing doing stuff. We described what it was doing and called the thing spacetime.

2019-05-23 05:11:31 UTC

*then* we went looking for things that worked the way we expected based on what we thought spacetime was.

2019-05-23 05:27:06 UTC

Btw, the thing about being on the spinning ball above. Assuming the globe model.

There is 100N down due to gravity, and only about 2.7N away due to earths rotation. That is only at the equator, the “fastest” part, the more you move away the less force there is “throwing” you off the earth

2019-05-23 10:27:55 UTC

Is apparent gravity just local gravitational force sub the centrifugal force?

2019-05-23 11:16:11 UTC

I've heavily analyzed space photos taken from NASA to prove that the Earth is flat.

2019-05-23 11:20:35 UTC

Just simple maths

2019-05-23 11:21:25 UTC

2.7 N away due to centrifugal force assuming you are 100kg

2019-05-23 11:25:03 UTC

And if someone is gonna say, “would you not be able to feel the difference then, if you go to the equator from the poles” or along those lines, yes, if you teleported there, and if you did teleport there you body would most likely be able to adjust in a mater of minutes

But pizza lives on

2019-05-23 15:40:04 UTC

I think the earth is round

Prove it, or stop citing a belief.

2019-05-23 17:15:52 UTC

That's the definition of Newtonian gravity. In General Relativity, it's the curvature of spacetime.

2019-05-23 17:16:19 UTC

why would you feel any of that?

2019-05-23 17:16:48 UTC

True, i guess

2019-05-23 17:17:35 UTC

and I believe the Cavendish experiment proves at least a gravitational constant.

2019-05-23 17:18:47 UTC

so saying "it's never been scientifically proven to exist" is bunk.

2019-05-23 17:20:44 UTC

It never has been proven you silly people.

2019-05-23 17:21:00 UTC

If you don’t pass the scientific method, you do not possess proof.

2019-05-23 17:21:05 UTC

And you don’t.

2019-05-23 17:21:22 UTC

Actually, I take it back. it hasn't been *proven*. But in science, nothing is every proven. Only disproven.

2019-05-23 17:22:09 UTC

In science nothing is ever proven, only disproven? So.. How is it possible to disprove what has never been proven? Do you hear yourself?

2019-05-23 17:22:11 UTC

And general relativity works *incredibly well* under most applications. Falls apart in quantum theory, though.

I didn't come up with that, Derkek. That's the scientific method.
