I believe that those who don't share a heritage like your own are definitely capable of integrating well in small numbers, however, if we replace you it'll be a fundamentally different country @Andrew-KY

2019-02-21 06:31:58 UTC

With ups and downs. Up is it doesnt cuck, down is its not as successful

2019-02-21 06:32:21 UTC

I don't want the US to lose its Northwestern European character. That doesn't mean I'm self hating or whatever, it just means that I respect America's heritage.

2019-02-21 06:32:51 UTC

I feel you and thats good. No one should be self hatinf

2019-02-21 06:33:21 UTC

Of course. And everyone should support everyone's right to self determination, right?

2019-02-21 06:33:27 UTC

Indeed

2019-02-21 06:33:58 UTC

I think that barring extensive European immigration, we have enough admixture as Americans that we won't fall back into the Irish and Italian etc ethnic conflicts again. We're Evropean Americans at this point.

2019-02-21 06:34:14 UTC

Right

2019-02-21 06:34:46 UTC

eh, regional character has already emerged and would only strengthen if globohomo was curtailed

2019-02-21 06:34:56 UTC

Conflict doesn't exist because the US already moved past that. It'll exist again if we import people again.

2019-02-21 06:34:59 UTC

south, northwest, southwest, etc

2019-02-21 06:35:32 UTC

@Perihelion - CA true. I think it's more regional pride and less stark conflict.

2019-02-21 06:36:11 UTC

wouldn't be conflict if local rule was planned for

2019-02-21 06:36:16 UTC

return to true state system

2019-02-21 06:36:25 UTC

Each area has developed its own heritage, but still American.

2019-02-21 06:37:12 UTC

it's just too much territory and too many people to stay one ethnic/cultural block

2019-02-21 06:37:25 UTC

you need a real federal system

2019-02-21 06:37:31 UTC

grits vs oatmeal. sweet tea vs unsweetened. just don't attack the stars and bars.

2019-02-21 06:38:51 UTC

I think if we were, as whites, a supermajority, we'd get along ok. The differences between us regoinally are less than the ones between us and Somalians.

2019-02-21 06:39:21 UTC

Regional identity which exists as a subset of American identity is not the same as importing alien identities

2019-02-21 06:39:25 UTC

That's important to remember

2019-02-21 06:39:37 UTC

I wonder if highlighting these essentially american white sub-cultures would be a good angle for IE.

2019-02-21 06:39:49 UTC

Meaning regional sub-cultures?

2019-02-21 06:39:51 UTC

I think that would be when it would be ok to fall back on the God bless America CivNat feelings. It can be cohesive if we are homogeneous.

2019-02-21 06:40:33 UTC

Appealing to unique regional identities like Dixie could be a good idea

2019-02-21 06:40:42 UTC

Speciation is a constant process. Homogeniety can never be maintained and should not be maintained. Speciation should be from within not without though.

2019-02-21 06:41:20 UTC

Absolutely. In fact, importing alien cultures undermines it in a way.

2019-02-21 06:41:23 UTC

Relative homogeniety. As in, whites.

2019-02-21 06:41:35 UTC

Cascadia has it's own thing. State of Jefferson for NorCal. Texas is certainly a thing to itself. Dakotas are a thing. Utah country is a thing. Northeast is a thing

2019-02-21 06:41:54 UTC

they have thier own aesthetics and culture

2019-02-21 06:42:11 UTC

I feel like a lot of those identities don't exist anymore since people tend to identify more with their ethnic identity than with a regional identity that their family isn't a part of

2019-02-21 06:42:28 UTC

nah they're very much a thing

2019-02-21 06:42:42 UTC

It's difficult enough to get newcomers to become a part of American identity, it's going to be impossible to get them to feel solidarity with "Cascadia" or whatever

2019-02-21 06:42:49 UTC

Mormon country is real

2019-02-21 06:43:05 UTC

Right, well those Mormons are a pretty old group, aren't they?

2019-02-21 06:43:08 UTC

Portlandia is more than a meme

2019-02-21 06:43:30 UTC

I'm a semi southern midwesterner. And I know everyone else is off their rockers. :D I have a regional identity. But yes, my ethnic heritage trumps regional differences.

2019-02-21 06:43:32 UTC

I grew up in the Seattle area and never really felt like their was a "Seattle identity" growing up

2019-02-21 06:43:44 UTC

I think there used to be one, but it doesn't really exist anymore

2019-02-21 06:43:55 UTC

Seattle is cosmopolitan.

2019-02-21 06:44:08 UTC

Yeah Seattle got killed in the cradle
