No but when you're dealing with a 90 degrees differential between the outside temperature and the inside temperature, surely the balloon itself is transferring heat to the outside

The lack of pressure makes it more difficult to get an accurate reading, I mean were it possible to hold the balloon at certain altitudes for about 20 minutes until all temperature equalized at night you would get a better reading.
Nevertheless I showed the temperatures recorded at certain elevations day vs night were not consistent
