again not a troll/trying to be mean, i just want to say
earthquakes are tectonic plates passing each other or whatever

if i take a ball, spin it, and then hold a quarter on it, assuming the ball keeps spinning, i can keep the quarter still with my finger. an "earthquake" would be me shaking the quarter.

the ball can still spin while the singular point is still moving
