HUMAN RIGHTS !!!

2020-09-22 20:39:31 UTC

Ok - I’d like to see a document from transparency international that defines these as the minimum requirements for democracy?

2020-09-22 20:39:43 UTC

Or ‘inventors of democracy’ whoever they are.

2020-09-22 20:39:44 UTC

Peru's President pardoned convicted criminal abuse criminals. war criminals..

2020-09-22 20:40:19 UTC

@Yussuki ₪ so whatever country violates human rights , they are not democracies?

2020-09-22 20:40:49 UTC

I’m genuinely asking. And I’ll tell you why. Any theoretical ideas of governemnet or otherwise, they all seem to be open to redefine to prove any point.

2020-09-22 20:40:58 UTC

@Yussuki ₪ stop making stuff up and actually give me something you believe in

2020-09-22 20:41:05 UTC

I want us to be clear so the discussion can move forward.

2020-09-22 20:42:58 UTC

@Légionnaire Étranger . You know what's funny? Even if you would be right (absurd as it seems) from 1700+ wars since the beginning of time..you can produce only 1 war between 2 democracies. (Ofc its not true, but lets just say you right, wouldnt you find it true that: "Democracies dont wage war against each other?") --- this was the initial discussion

2020-09-22 20:43:08 UTC

Ok - so I quickly skimmed through it. Even by the articles own admission - it is easier to define what is not democratic than what is democracy.

2020-09-22 20:43:09 UTC

Secondly

2020-09-22 20:43:39 UTC

It talks about ideas of ‘more democratic’ and ‘less democratic’ so does not draw a line saying the 4 -5 things you stated as minimum requirements

2020-09-22 20:44:19 UTC

No consensus exists on how to define democracy, but legal equality, political freedom and rule of law have been identified as important characteristics. These principles are reflected in all eligible citizens being equal before the law and having equal access to legislative processes. = wikipedia

2020-09-22 20:44:30 UTC

The parameters you seem to be proposing as minimum requirements of democracy seem to be on the ‘more democratic’ side of things.

2020-09-22 20:44:46 UTC

But definitely not minimum requirements

2020-09-22 20:45:25 UTC

@Yussuki ₪ "no consensus exists on how to define democracy"

Also @Yussuki ₪ "that's not a democracy!"

Lol this guy is pretty funny

2020-09-22 20:45:30 UTC

You need to have a Representative Parliament to be able to have a Democracy.

2020-09-22 20:45:31 UTC

Well - you pointed to this article when I asked - so saying ‘ no consensus exists on how to define democracy’ ... you could’ve said that without making the claim that there are these set in stone minimum requirements 🙂

2020-09-22 20:45:46 UTC

@Légionnaire Étranger you tripped on the first 2 rows. read more

2020-09-22 20:45:46 UTC

And we would have agreed

2020-09-22 20:46:09 UTC

@Yussuki ₪
I'm glad you conceded. Fi ally some honesty.

2020-09-22 20:46:27 UTC

No, I was making an argument. I debunked you 8 times.

2020-09-22 20:46:37 UTC

@Yussuki ₪ funny man 😄

2020-09-22 20:46:47 UTC

Stop with personal attack’s

2020-09-22 20:46:48 UTC

"absurd it seems" -- you do cherry picking

2020-09-22 20:46:53 UTC

Attacks*

2020-09-22 20:47:08 UTC

you guys are big clowns

2020-09-22 20:47:08 UTC

He mare me pathetic and dishonest 9+ times.

2020-09-22 20:47:12 UTC

@Yussuki ₪ ecuador had a representative parliament. > You need to have a Representative Parliament to be able to have a Democracy.
@Yussuki ₪

2020-09-22 20:47:14 UTC

it's funny

2020-09-22 20:47:31 UTC

> You need to have a Representative Parliament to be able to have a Democracy.
@Yussuki ₪ so you admit that my example is valid?

2020-09-22 20:47:51 UTC

how about instead of this, you speak with your voice, not the speed of your fingers

2020-09-22 20:47:58 UTC

No, Ecuaodor was not a Democracy in 1995. Having a Parliament doesnt make you a Democracy. China also has a Parliament in the form of the National Assembly

2020-09-22 20:48:00 UTC

get in the voice chat

2020-09-22 20:48:22 UTC

You need to have multiple criteria to establish a Democracy.

2020-09-22 20:48:29 UTC

> No, Ecuaodor was not a Democracy in 1995. Having a Parliament doesnt make you a Democracy. China also has a Parliament in the form of the National Assembly

@Yussuki ₪ > You need to have a Representative Parliament to be able to have a Democracy.
@Yussuki ₪

2020-09-22 20:48:33 UTC

Parliament is just one criteria

2020-09-22 20:48:57 UTC

Zino - I’ll give you an analogy to explain the problem I’m having with your argument on defining it the way you wish to that makes your case —— Cases of sexual harassment have grown on average in the last 10 years .... well if you change the definition to include more actions as sexual harassment of course they are.

2020-09-22 20:49:01 UTC

Uganda has Parliament. Is Uganda Democratic?

2020-09-22 20:49:37 UTC

Can we agree that it's necessary to have more criteria to consider a State as being Democratic ?
