Yeah but people do things against theyreeconomic interest all the time.
people do things against religions interest all the time
you dont worship it right way
So pick one.
I pick family
and God
I mean it's pretty sad that a lot of people don't do something like have children because the economic calculation is first and foremost in their mind.
No I mean the worship/obey thing.

@JustLookin
facts
money destroyed more lifes than any religion
Which I would say is pretty close to worshiping something when you're willing to put something like that on the backburner for it. Not to say money shouldn't factor in - just that it should be below something else in the consideration.
@Delta But don't you think even the most devout Christians often view the dollar as higher than God
Um. No
some use christ for dollars
?
@Delta How many Christians do you think work on Sunday and forego Church for the paycheck?
There’s a difference between skipping church and putting money above the ideals of your religion
@Delta Even if their bible tells them to?
It depends on the Christians personal understanding. There's a decent amount of NT stuff that seems to indicate that it's a-ok "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath” (Mark 2:27), " just for example.
@JustLookin I agree whole heartedly that their personal understanding comes into play. Catholicism is one that prohibits working on Sunday. But many do.
@Jostein so then are you saying we shouldnt run our world moneterily
I grew up in an area with a lot of different branches of Christianity including Catholics, I can only remember the smaller ones adhering to the sunday thing. A lot of catholics are like a lot of Jews in that they are really only culturally religious and don't really care much besides the doing the rituals from time to time, so that complicates that matter.
@T2the2ndpowr Preferably yes, we shouldnt. But we are still fare away from being abel to. Mainly because money is a tool for controll like religion is. But ofcourse if people overall had good morality combined with knowledge and understanding to not be fooled by trickery, we could function with money. But if that was the case i dont think money would even be wanted.
But how would medicine be made and surgery be done without money
How would good he produced
How would technology be created and exploration be done without money
You need money to do all of these things
do you get payd to talk here? do you get payed to walk in the mountains to look for somethign you are interestedin finding? im guessing no. Google even ahve done tests with theire imployees where they moneterily incentiviesd then make good programs. but didjnt work too good. then they gave them free reign to work on what projects theyw anted for some time. that was when they came up with the best solutions and addons
Money isnt hwat motivates good action. its the want to do things that interests you and what you see is usefull .
That is very easy to say
And I use to argue that in school once
But in order to do these great things say like space exploration. Building a space ship is a very laborious thing and you need money to get people to do that
It’s easy to say they’ll just do it cause they want to
But we have every reason to believe that that’s not true
There is ALOT of people very interested in exploring space. so the work isn nto the issue of money. if you want to argue of what people may not want to do is the work needed to mine hte raw materials
and for that matter transporting trash
Exactly
You’re asking for a utopia
Who’s gonna clean up all the trash that people throw on the road
Who gonna keep the electric running
