Peterson more defined it as the ultimate ideal you strive to meet. Which can be personified as an agreement with an omniscient being
I don’t think e can actually know> He is a theist
@Deleted User
i really think even once you get past the definition theres still a bigger issue at hand
which is whats the need for one. and why do you need to believe in one.
if you say god is the ultimate ideal you strive to meet, then the word god just becomes a label.
I think there are a couple assumptions you have to make in life
ah huh.
that is interesting.
Like being is better than not being
That’s the big one in my eyes
I don’t know how you reason your way to that. If someone can I’d love to hear it.
Might ask that on the battlefield
mhm
In the epistles of Justin Martyr god is described as just that, a label.
To be frank I dont have any background on that reference.
I just read up a little.
very interesting
"the "seeds of Christianity" (manifestations of the Logos acting in history) actually predated Christ's incarnation. This notion allows him to claim many historical Greek philosophers (including Socrates and Plato), in whose works he was well studied, as unknowing Christians."
Anyhow I'm excited about the town hall today
Yes, Christian ideals did not arrive with Christ. They have been around...dare I say...since the garden of Eden.
There are 1000s of manuscripts and copies of manuscripts that describe Christianity. Some of which are more authoritative sources than the bible itself.

@Deleted User substantiate how that's not an argument from authority fallacy.
@m.miller give me a minute. I will try
Just got my hair wacked. Will be online in a half hour
@ThePangburn did you talk to the stylist about the pleasure drive while you got a haircut? Lol
Spreading the pleasure drive gospel. Gotta love it.
@m.miller it is an authority fallacy as much as arguing from the bible itself is an authority fallacy
> @m.miller it is an authority fallacy as much as arguing from the bible itself is an authority fallacy
@Deleted User *hugs* well done.
@Deleted User I've decided to join today's stream because I want to pick your brain.
@m.miller unfortunately god cannot be proven in a lab so believers only have authoritative figures to support their argument.
@Deleted User are you a theist?
Yes.
Ooooo spicy! I look forward to duking it out today. :)
Yeah it should be interesting.
@everyone going live! https://youtu.be/PzgQxWBCIbg
I’m sos salty I can’t make it. I’ll prob make aftershow tho
@everyone I would love it if some of you could make some funny video clips out of the town hall discussions.
Hi! I'm new and I have 2 random questions. 1- Is the Aftershow Room for everyone? 2- Are you guys talking about stuff related to the last video?
1, yes. 2, we talk about the show we had just done and what ever else is on our minds.
Right now it’s gone off the rails of the OG discussion though
Haha oky! Thanks for the answers!
