Someone called free will a parasite the other day in response to one of my videos and I found it such a weird thing to say, but I think it's all too easy for me to forget that people are having experiences like yours @snflwrshell

How long have you been there? Do you find yourself wanting to move? How have things changed over the years? I ask all these questions because I don't think I'd want to stay.

I've lived all over the US, but have been in this mountain county for almost 10 years. I've wanted to move, even immigrate out of the US. My husband and I have been discussing it more these days. But it's not that easy to move. My mom is alone now that my dad passed and I'm not sure I want to leave her here. Thankfully, I come from good progressive stock. My parents used do be religious but left it behind long ago. My dad made sure that we didn't have any religious bullshit to honor him after his death. So I'm fortunate that I don't have to deal with religious family.
Things have only changed in this community to be even more evangelical conservative since Trump. After Obama, the racism has really showed itself worse than ever. This is the area that raised hundreds of dollars to fly a humongous Confederate flag over the main highway to counter-protest the BLM movement. There's not one Planned Parenthood in the county or surrounding counties. It's mind-numbingly stupid around here.

I honestly believe it’s the wokeness that came from the Obama era and the constant invoking of racism from the past on the progressive side that has led us to the tension we see today. The very few actual white supremacists there are coming out of the woodwork to counter protest seems to be the reaction not the catalyst.

Not sure the region, but the mongols as a culture and subsequently an expansion didn’t exist til long after Buddhism emerged so I doubt that last one.

Mongoloid as in east Asian /central Asian /southeast Asian.

As India is separated by the Himalayas I wouldn’t think that unless by way of Thailand which shares a similar culture although the influence on Thailand’s culture seems to have come from India and not the other way around. I think most Indian ethnicities are fairly distinct compared to other Asians and probably have history as old as history itself.

Just by looks alone Indians seem to have more in common with middle easterners than Asians.
