I would like clarification on prayer with or without head covering covered in 1Corinthians 11:1-16

**1 Corinthians 11:1-16 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**

```Dust
Head Coverings
<1> <1> Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. <2> I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions just as I handed them on to you. <3> But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the husband is the head of his wife, and God is the head of Christ. <4> Any man who prays or prophesies with something on his head disgraces his head, <5> but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled disgraces her head—it is one and the same thing as having her head shaved. <6> For if a woman will not veil herself, then she should cut off her hair; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or to be shaved, she should wear a veil. <7> For a man ought not to have his head veiled, since he is the image and reflection of God; but woman is the reflection of man. <8> Indeed, man was not made from woman, but woman from man. <9> Neither was man created for the sake of woman, but woman for the sake of man. <10> For this reason a woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. <11> Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man or man independent of woman. <12> For just as woman came from man, so man comes through woman; but all things come from God. <13> Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head unveiled? <14> Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair, it is degrading to him, <15> but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering. <16> But if anyone is disposed to be contentious—we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God. ```
It is stated clearly enough that the head covering is hair, The woman should let hers grow and not cut it. the man should cut his to be acceptable before God in prayer. The KJV is a little clearer on the issue, I think, but I prefer the King James.
That's a truth that isn't taught anymore in modern day 'churches'. I think it's because of the women's lib movement where they think they should be equal or even superior to men because they don't understand that they are two parts of a whole. that is the result of what happened in the garden. Eve was the first to be deceived and so was caused to be subservient to Adam who was made to be subservient to the earth, having to work by the sweat of his brow for his living. The serpent, not a snake, was turned into a snake to eat the dust of the ground. The dust of the ground that God formed Adam from.
I may be evil spoken of for that last bit but the meaning is clear. Try as you might you can't make the scriptures say what you want.
Poking the bear again, I've got another impertinent question. Can anyone show where the word Trinity is recorded in the Bible?
2 Corinthians 4:5-7
2019-10-21 16:10:17 UTC
**2 Corinthians 4:5-7 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**
```Dust

<5> For we do not proclaim ourselves; we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus' sake. <6> For it is the God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. <7> But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. ```

<16> See it is I who have created the smith who blows the fire of coals, and produces a weapon fit for its purpose; I have also created the ravager to destroy. <17> No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, says the Lord. ```

@imig There are plenty of 'concepts' that can (and certainly have been) inferred from the scriptures. The best misinformation starts with a grain of truth. This controversy has simmered since the Trinity concept was first introduced at the council of Nicaea in about 340 AD. Many preachers who had been invited there were executed for disagreeing.

Provemewrong.

2019-10-22 02:29:44 UTC

@Shadetree49 I have been reading about that today and it is great news. I will get back to you on that

2019-10-22 02:32:50 UTC

@Shadetree49 there is not any info about that before the 14th century.

2019-10-22 02:34:03 UTC

@Shadetree49 like to explain this to you sometime soon

2019-10-22 02:35:17 UTC

There is God the Father, Son is Jesus Christ. Done deal

2019-10-22 02:56:25 UTC

@QuikWit @imig Consider this alternate point of view. There is a Godhead. It is comprised of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. There is also only one God. Now reconcile the two seemingly contradictory positions. Look at the timeline. In the Old Testament God was represented as the Father, presiding OVER the people. At the advent of Jesus, God came down into a mortal body and dwelt WITH the people, yet still remained over the people. John called Him the Logos, or the very essence of God. When Jesus ascended back to heaven in bodily form He sent back the Holy Spirit to live IN the people. Same God in all three forms. Just getting closer to His children through time.

2019-10-22 03:30:44 UTC

Look at Mathew 28:19 Jesus, before He ascended, commanded that new believers were to be baptized in the NAME of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. Now notice that 'name' is singular. What is the name. It is the Lord Jesus Christ. Break that down and realize we have one Lord and Father of us all. Jesus was/is the earthly name of the Son. It literally means Jehovah s Savior. The Holy Ghost/Spirit is the 'breath' of God, the life giving force.

2019-10-22 03:30:45 UTC

**Matthew 28:19 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**

```Dust
<19> Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ```
2019-10-22 03:34:01 UTC
By the way, the term baptism infers a total immersion.
