i just listened to "The Blank Slate" by Steven Pinker
it was pretty interesting
Whats he on about?
He writes about contemporary society's denial of how your genetics contribute to your character. He basically argues that your genes have more to do with your personality/predictive success than any other variable
here is a quick summary of it if you wont an overview

i agree. It ties in somewhat with Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules for Life
Both criticize the Lockean philosophy of human nature described as a "blank slate"
just for different reasons
Peterson says the blank slate perspective minimizes or eliminates the biological differences between men and women, often at the expense of young men (as society secularizes, it tends to approach a more feminine world-view)
