@dumpster depends on how exactly the source is portraying information. If it's anon, I will zoom out the the big picture: and analyze to see if the anon information helps or supports the elites. Secondly, I question the distraction factor. Is the anon source feeding real crucial information: or are they adding something to the "honey pot" in an effort to distract from real issues. It's inherently situational of course. Lastly; consider what the anon says; then consider all the important things they DIDNTsay. Sometimes you can learn a great deal about a source, by figuring out what topics they won't broach. Random example: if an anon is actually a Freemason in secret, you might come to the conclusion he's a Freemason because of the lack of coverage of that topic...trying to hide tracks by making anonymous track to follow. Some rabbit holes are actually just red herring nests, and designed so. Sorry, long answer, but you always ask good questions lol
