WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump's national security adviser said Sunday the U.S. has a plan that would lead to the dismantling of North Korea's nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs in a year.

John Bolton said top U.S. diplomat Mike Pompeo will be discussing that plan with North Korea in the near future. Bolton added that it would be to the North's advantage to cooperate to see sanctions lifted quickly and aid from South Korea and Japan start to flow.

Bolton's remarks on CBS' "Face the Nation" appeared to be the first time the Trump administration had publicly suggested a timeline for North Korea to fulfill the commitment leader Kim Jong Un made at a summit with President Donald Trump last month for the "complete denuclearization" of the Korean Peninsula.
"If they have the strategic decision to already do that and they cooperative we can move very quickly," Bolton said of denuclearization. "What our experts have devised is a program that, with North Korean cooperation, with full disclosure of all of their chemical and biological and nuclear programs [and] ballistic missile sites .... physically, we would be able to dismantle the overwhelming bulk of their programs within a year."
Despite Trump's rosy post-summit declaration that the North no longer poses a nuclear threat, Washington and Pyongyang have yet to negotiate the terms under which it would relinquish the weapons that it developed to deter the U.S. Doubts over North Korea's intentions have deepened amid reports that it is continuing to produce fissile material for weapons.
In a Sunday interview with Fox News President Trump reiterated his belief that Kim Jong Un is "very serious" about denuclearization. "I got along really well with Chairman Kim," the president told Maria Bartiromo. "I made a deal with him. I shook hands with him. I really believe he means it."

The Washington Post on Saturday cited unnamed U.S. intelligence officials as saying that evidence collected since the June 12 summit in Singapore points to preparations to deceive the U.S. about the number of nuclear warheads in North Korea's arsenal as well as the existence of undisclosed facilities used to make fissile material for nuclear bombs.
It said the findings support a new, previously undisclosed Defense Intelligence Agency estimate that North Korea is unlikely to denuclearize.

Bolton on Sunday declined to comment on intelligence matters.
He said the administration was well aware of North Korea's track record over the decades in dragging out negotiations with the U.S. to continue weapons development.
"We have developed a program. I'm sure that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will be discussing this with the North Koreans in the near future about really how to dismantle all of their WMD and ballistic missile programs in a year," Bolton said. "If they have the strategic decision already made to do that, and they're cooperative, we can move very quickly," he added.
He said the one-year program the U.S. is proposing would cover all of the North's chemical and biological weapons, nuclear programs and ballistic missiles.
Pompeo has already visited Pyongyang twice since April to meet with Kim — the first time when he was still director of the CIA — and there are discussions about a possible third trip to North Korea late next week but such a visit has not yet been confirmed.

Pompeo spoke with the foreign ministers of China, Japan and South Korea in recent days about the situation with the North, according to the State Department, which has declined to comment on any upcoming travel.
Pompeo did postpone plans to meet with Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and their counterparts from India on July 6, citing unavoidable circumstances, which has fueled speculation he will make a third trip to Pyongyang.

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
A woman accused of faking cancer to get donations is not off the hook just yet, that's according to Dougherty District Attorney Greg Edwards.

For months Abbey Arthur has been in and out of court for probation violation.

She has also stood before the judge for driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane charges.

Officials said although she has been in and out of jail for these charges, the district attorney's office and Albany Police are investigating her for other things and the alleged cancer scam.

"It is an ongoing investigation. And we will be looking at things that have allegedly already occurred. And then we will be looking at the things that have already occurred in relation to any new information. We have to look at if that is any violation of the law, if any," said Greg Edwards, Dougherty District Attorney.

Edwards said of course until a matter is presented to a judge or jury, they are innocent until proven guilty.

He said if you have any leads on this case, call the Dougherty District Attorney's office or Albany Police.

The media can be idiotic (redundant). There’s no such guarantees in any international deal. Everything used to be one day at a time, now it’s one minute at a time. War is silly, The world is SO CLOSE to the George Jetson future (the good parts) and some just do not want the next step towards the Most Golden Age.

GUINDA, Calif. (AP) — Evacuations were ordered as dry, hot winds fueled a wildfire burning out of control Sunday in rural Northern California, sending a stream of smoke some 75 miles (120 kilometers) south into the San Francisco Bay Area.

The fast-moving blaze that broke out Saturday in western Yolo County charred at least 34 square miles (88 square kilometers) of dry brush and threatened more than two dozen structures in ranchland northwest of Sacramento. No injuries were reported and the exact number of people evacuated was unclear.

Autumn Edens marveled as a huge plume blocked the sun while she drove to her job as manager of the Corner Store in Guinda, a town of about 250 people just north of the fire.

“You can see the smoke and you can see an orange-red glow from the flames. It looks like a movie,” she said. “I’ve never seen a fire like that up close and it’s an intense feeling.”

It was one of two major wildfires in the northern part of the state, where temperatures were soaring, humidity was dropping and winds were steady.

A blaze burning for several days to the west in Lake County jumped containment lines Saturday, prompting additional evacuation orders. That fire was more than 70 percent contained after charring about 22 square miles (57 square kilometers) of brush.

Smoke from the Yolo County fire was contributing to poor air quality in Napa, Sonoma, San Mateo and San Francisco counties, according to the National Weather Service.

The smoky haze settling on areas to the south and west was rattling nerves near wine country communities that were devastated by deadly wildfires late last year.

“A lot of friends and family were texting today and saying they were having some PTSD,” said Savannah Kirtlink, who evacuated her Napa home during the blazes in December. She took photos of the smoke moving in this weekend and told KGO-TV she empathized with her neighbors to the north who were forced to flee their homes.

“I’m imagining what they’re going through,” she said.

Officials urged people not to call 911 about smoke unless they see actively burning fire.
