Daily Scripture and Comment:
Expectation postponed makes the heart sick.—Prov.13:12.
Consider the case of a sister in England who very much wanted a child but whose hopes in that regard had not been fulfilled. Then she entered the change of life. She admitted that she felt devastated, for she realized that her desire would not be satisfied in this system of things. She and her husband decided to adopt a child. Nonetheless, she said: “I still went through
a sort of grieving process. I knew that adoption would not be exactly the same as giving birth to my own child.” The Bible does mention a Christian woman’s being “kept safe through childbearing.” (1 Tim. 2:15) But this does not mean that giving birth or having children results in gaining everlasting life. Rather, it refers to the fact that a woman’s having children to tend to, along with the other aspects of caring for a household, may keep her from falling into a pattern of gossiping and meddling in others’ affairs. —1Tim.5:13 .w17.065-6˚6-8

Today I had to stop in at the hospital for an EKG as part of the process to get back surgery. I was supposed to get it done last Thursday along with the other tests but somehow I missed it. Today, for the test, they put me in a room with someone else. The curtains were drawn so I didn't see who it was. When my test was finished the fellow on the other side of the curtain said, "Walt, is that you?" I realized it was my old friend Gus. Around the curtain I went and saw him lying at deaths door. I asked him if I could pray for him and he gladly accepted. He was truly worried about his final destination. We prayed for his salvation and healing. If I hadn't had to come back for that EKG today I might have missed out on a wonderful opportunity.

HI. I have been here from the beginning but lurking and YouTube. . I don't belong to a church (former Catholic) but I consider my family on PSB my spiritual family. I've gone through a massive spiritual awakening (born again?) since 2017. It weighs very heavy on my that I was unaware of the indoctrination my children were receiving and I did not do enough to instill a love of God in there hearts. I thought through good example a basic foundation was enough. I have 2 sweet boys with wonderful moral compasses but very liberal views on God. I never thought this would bother me, I always thought they had there whole lives and in the society I thought we lived in I assumed they would naturally grow closer to God with maturity. Boy I blew it. There is not time and our society is leading them away from God . Since going back to Christ I've felt attacked but the attacks are indirect and on my children. There have been mental health and physical problems affecting my children. There are some lifestyle choices maybe old me could have handled (sort of) but are crushing me because now I worry about their souls. Their hearts are golden but I feel blindsided by this crazy new reality and I've left my children very unprepared. I feel like their generation was really given a raw deal and are really up against it having known so little truth. SO.....The reason for the long story is that I am asking for prayers that JESUS works his way into their hearts. I really believe in the power of group prayer and would appreciate if you would pray for them and all of their generation.

The fact that you are regaining your senses should tell you that God is working in your life. If He is working in your life, He can also work in the lives of your children, Trust God through Jesus Christ. He wants the best for you an your children. Remember how he hardened Pharaohs heart and softened others. Aside from Gods love for us, there is no stronger love than that of a mother for her children. God bless you. My prayers are with you and I'm sure many others as well.

Wednesday, June 26th The Scripture For The Day w/Comment.
What do you give [God]; what does he receive from you?—Job 35:7.
Was Elihu suggesting that our efforts in God’s service are pointless?
No. He was saying that Jehovah does not depend on our worship. Jehovah
is complete. We cannot make him richer or stronger. On the contrary,
any goodness, talent, or strength that we possess is a trust from God,
and he takes note of how we use it. Jehovah considers acts of loyal love expressed toward his servants as being rendered to him personally. “The one showing favor to the lowly is lending to Jehovah, and He will repay him for what he does,” says Proverbs 19:17. Is this scripture implying that Jehovah takes note of every act of kindness performed in behalf of lowly ones? Can we conclude that the Creator of the universe considers himself to be indebted to mere humans who perform deeds of mercy and that he views such giving as loans that he repays with favor and blessings? Yes, and this was verified by God’s own Son.

God Who made us, Who knows our every ailment and provides the cure for every illness, we lift up in Your presence @Patriot64 , whose journey has included a challenge in the form of cancer. We pray that this child of Yours, who is dwelling in the shadow of the Most High, will emerge from the progress test with a shout of victory and a deeper sense of thanksgiving for all You provide in this life and the next. We pray for the opportunity to share in the rejoicing thereafter, knowing that a simple touch of the hem of Your garment brings wholeness to the broken, healing to the sick, and health to the ailing. Bless Patriot64 on the way to this appointment with the sense of the warm oil of anointing for healing, and open the mouth of Your servant to sing. We pray in the Name of the One whose touch is the answer to all of our needs, the solution to all of our problems--Jesus Christ. Amen.

last night Rani Rich came on said prayers please he just found out his son has a fast growing cancer tumor.

2019-06-28 12:21:27 UTC

God, You are our Refuge and Strength, a present help in times of trouble. Though the mountains quake in the heart of the sea, though the waters roar and foam with its fury, we will not fear. In the light of Your presence, we lift up the son of Rani Rich. He and his family are facing a mountain called "tumor." According to Yeshua's faith and confidence, we stand in agreement and tell this mountain to MOVE. God of Might, fill us--and especially the family of Rani Rich--with the Spirit of Love that casts out fear! Pour your irresistable healing over this earthly son, and bless him and his family with the joy of wholeness and renewed strength. Bless and guide the medical personnel who are working with him, and direct their hands and hearts to act according to Your riches in Glory. We surround this family with the light of Your love, and speak peace to them in this time of distress, in the Name of the One who holds, heals and empowers us--Jesus Christ. Amen.

Friday Scriptue and Comment: June 28
Each of us will render an account for himself to God.—Rom. 14:12.
After baptism, we want to continue living up to our dedication in
faithful service to God. There is no
way to undo a dedication vow, taking back what we promised God. If
a person tires of serving Jehovah
or of living a Christian way of life,
he cannot claim that he was never really dedicated and that his baptism was invalid. To all intents and
purposes, he presented himself as
one who was wholly dedicated to
God. He will be accountable before
Jehovah and the congregation for
any serious sins that he may commit. May it never be said of us that
‘we left the love we had at first.’ Instead, we want Jesus to be able to
say of us: “I know your deeds, and
your love and faith and ministry
and endurance, and that your deeds
of late are more than those you did
at first.” (Rev. 2:4, 19) May we zealously continue to live up to our dedication vow—to Jehovah’s delight.

@Cowboy, While I can almost completely agree, I have to ask this question. Where do you stand concerning predestination? If you are saying that a believer can sin wantonly with no conscience, then I would say that person was never saved to begin with but for whatever reason just played at being a Christian.

2019-06-28 20:46:08 UTC

@Shadetree49 As predestination goes, I don't believe once saved always saved, it all depends on your works. What the comment was refering to is once you dedicate your life and get baptized, it is basicly the beginning of your faithfulness to God. Then it really depends on your works and your indurance in serving God Jehovah. If later in life you sin, you can repent and earn your way back to God, as he remembers all that we do, good and bad, but he can forgive as long as you repented and remain in good standing with our God. Thank you for you question, it's always good to have a biblical conversation.

2019-06-28 21:01:36 UTC

Biblical Back-up: (James 2:24-26 24) You see that a man is to be declared righteous by works and not by faith alone. 25) In the same manner, was not Raʹhab the prostitute also declared righteous by works after she received the messengers hospitably and sent them out by another way? 26) Indeed, just as the body without spirit* is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
