“ A lie: Watch slow motion video of CNN’s Jim Acosta prove White House staffer touched him four times” by Sarah K Burris on Raw Story

RS attempts to deceptive its readers into thinking Acosta didn’t push the intern away after she tried to retrieve the White Houses property. They hilariously call the places they claimed she touched him “ impact zones” and hope you don’t actually watch the video yourself. He clearly touched her. “ White House shares manipulated Infowars video to justify CNN press ban” by Natasha Lomas on Tech Crunch

The media spent hours sharing a slow motion video from Raw Story that they claimed proved that Jim Acosta didn’t touch the intern trying to reclaim the mic, they then completely change the narrative after the Press Secretary shared another slow motion video made by Infowars. These people have no standards or credibility.

Pathetic

2018-11-08 16:12:40 UTC

I'm not surprised

2018-11-08 16:30:44 UTC

Pretty typical tbh

“ Palm Beach election supervisor bans cameras from public ballot-counting “ by Lulu Ramadan on The Palm Beach Post

NBC and Fox News sued after election officials illegally banned them from filming the recount. The judge agreed with them and forced them to allow the media back in. What were they hiding?

“ Math is racist: How data is driving inequality “ by Aimee Rawlins on CNN

The Truth is racist according to CNN. What else is there to say?

2018-11-11 03:03:22 UTC

What the fuck

2018-11-11 03:03:33 UTC

BREAKING NEWS: AIR IS RACIST

2018-11-11 03:53:16 UTC

I wish you were joking

2018-11-11 03:53:21 UTC

there was an article that claimed that

2018-11-11 03:54:38 UTC

It’s really just a distraction to keep left-wing untermenschen fixated on stupid shit

2018-11-11 03:56:15 UTC

The liberals who role play as communists need to be kept in a mental pen, that is, stupid “PC” issues

2018-11-11 03:56:48 UTC

If not, then they’ll finally realize how stupid their position is

2018-11-11 03:57:29 UTC

Their worldview’s practically backed up by denial (unironically, ofc)

2018-11-11 21:13:32 UTC

Breaking news: Articles have clickbait headlines to draw attention, then expound upon an actual issue (often with only a tertiary relation to the title, or with the title being a gross over-exaggeration) in the actual article

2018-11-11 21:14:01 UTC

"From targeted advertising and insurance to education and policing, O'Neil looks at how algorithms and big data are targeting the poor, reinforcing racism and amplifying inequality."

2018-11-11 21:14:10 UTC

"Denied a job because of a personality test? Too bad -- the algorithm said you wouldn't be a good fit. Charged a higher rate for a loan? Well, people in your zip code tend to be riskier borrowers. Received a harsher prison sentence? Here's the thing: Your friends and family have criminal records too, so you're likely to be a repeat offender. (Spoiler: The people on the receiving end of these messages don't actually get an explanation.)"

2018-11-11 21:14:40 UTC

It's talking about how math-based algorithms are harmful, particularly to poor communities, which tend to be disproportionately minorities due to the history of heritable wealth

2018-11-11 21:17:05 UTC

If you've ever taken a course in journalism

2018-11-11 21:17:14 UTC

or just... any form of course in which you're required to write an essay

2018-11-11 21:17:36 UTC

You'd know that a grabber goes at the beginning, before you narrow down to an actual topic and discuss it in detail

2018-11-11 21:17:56 UTC

"Some algorithms have harmful effects on certain communities" sounds a lot more boring than "Math is racist"

2018-11-11 21:18:11 UTC

The second sounds outrageous, so I'd click on it. The former sounds reasonable and boring.

2018-11-11 21:18:20 UTC

inb4 "I'd click on the first one, though"

2018-11-11 21:18:27 UTC

Good for you, you're not the mass public.

2018-11-11 21:20:28 UTC

@SilverLining too much give TL;DR

2018-11-11 21:21:48 UTC

tl;dr Read the article, not just the headline, 'cuz clickbait oversimplifies

2018-11-11 23:25:00 UTC

@Doctor Anon The anarchist is justifying the title by explaining that it's meant to draw attention to the article so people will read the actual issue and the accompanying explanation, and therefore isn't exactly a representation of the content so much as it is an attention grabber.

In other words, she's admitting that journalism is built and fueled by sensationalism, rather than information.

2018-11-11 23:26:45 UTC

lmao

2018-11-11 23:26:58 UTC

Trying to justify click-bait when it's to your cause

2018-11-12 01:32:31 UTC

I'm trying to explain that nobody actually believes the title

2018-11-12 01:32:40 UTC

And just emphasize how human psychology works

2018-11-12 01:33:02 UTC

Clickbait's more the result of an overly commercialized culture I'd argue, wherein clicks are treated as money. They're an acceptable form of lies in the current system

2018-11-12 01:33:43 UTC

I disagree with the usage of clickbait to that degree, but I'm trying to explain why nobody on the left legitimately believes the headline

2018-11-12 01:33:53 UTC

The right does it too quite a bit, tbf - equally shitty

2018-11-12 02:02:53 UTC

@Da_Fish stop pinging me commie sucker
