No, it's a good point; the nation was built of off Europeans who became European-Americans and immigrants replace that group.
The other point is showing that doing something because the founders intended it is stupid because someone saying *do X because XYZ said so and we're meant to* is an appeal to authority and it's nonsensical because we could come up with stupid shit they wanted to do that you don't agree with.
