We still have prostitution despite it being illegal
As is to be expected
You will never eliminate something 100%
and if it were legal there'd be much more
But what criminalizing it has done, is it has significantly reduced the spread of it
or the occurrence of it
But you aren’t criminalizing gay sex
That’s not what you said
You said gay marriage and adoption
It's part of a wide range of discussion
I would go the Russian route where all public displays of homosexuality are forbidden
marriage doesn't have a set purpose in a secular society
but wouldnt do anything in private
Because it's redundant to go that far
^
@21tagtmeiern it used to
but now it's little more than an economic union
yeah well idc
yeah well, you will when you get divorced
banning it in privacy would just mean people would do it privately anyways except they'd be more careful

ok look i'm debated out this weekend i'll talk about this tomorrow
I’m a libertarian. Anytime the government walks into someone’s life and tells them what they are supposed to do in their private life is seen as negative. It isn’t the job of the government to forbid any consenting relationship of any kind. Its also not the responsibility of the government to pay for your treatment cause you’re sick with an STD.
Libertarianism is gay
🤷♂️
so I see the connection
Tough shit then
Do you like Pinochet @killsometime
Pinochet is a discount Franco really
*shit
All I know about him is free helicopter rides
Libertarians are the creationists of economics
and communists are the flat earthers
Generally speaking once upon a time homosexuality was viewed as not normal, however few if any cared what happened behind closed doors. Most treated the public space as a common space where the majority is entitled to, through sheer force, force unity in identity and what values are propagated. Hence why today you cant for example fuck around and cause a riot or yell fire in a theatre. You also cant walk around naked.... which can be argued for just as much as homosexuality in the same way. Its discriminatory yes. But its the public space so the majority has the right to say no to certain behaviours that affect everyone. What you do individually does affect those around you especialyl in the public space, and people have a right to determine if that is unnaceptable or not.
Atheists and Creationists are equally terrible, they assert an answer in a unanswerable theoretical metaphysical question
Are people born gay? No, perhaps a few but most are not.
Should gay people have gotten the "right" to marry? No, it isn't marriage and they never actually wanted to be married.
Should gays be allowed to adopt children? NO, stop the degeneracy, protect the kids.
just to suit personal vendettas
@killsometime The purpose of laws isn't always to outright forbid something, sometimes they are written with the intention of fostering a certain culture
which is why "BUT IT STILL HAPPENS" is a meaningless retort
Last time I looked into it, I believe gays are overrepresented in child molestation by like 40 times.
