I think that is because of societal liberalism, which like free market liberalism, creates niches. So, people are much more focused on single things and those things become too important for them.

Depends, there are many theories. the rapid growht in autism is as of yet, unexplainable with the explanation of better diagnostics. However diagnostics are rather strict. There are suspicions that it prolly has an exogenous source, some say vaccines (honestly this might be a thing), say too much estrogen or chemicals or plastics in foods (also very probable), However it is most likely not being over diagnosed since it has also drastically risen in girls. But moreso in boys. (Im willing to say that the extra increase in boys is simply medicating them, however thats usually for ADHD rather than autism.)
