That s an atheist wives tale

2018-08-05 17:51:59 UTC

or jew.

2018-08-05 17:52:11 UTC

Many modern people interpret separation of church and state to mean separation of religion and public life but i believe that's an oddity of our Anglo Saxon society

2018-08-05 17:52:16 UTC

Which privatizes religion

2018-08-05 17:52:23 UTC

When you have a community that is 100% chrisitan, how can the STATE tell them they cant have a school that REFLECTS that reality

2018-08-05 17:52:28 UTC

Thats not in teh constitution.

2018-08-05 17:52:30 UTC

Here's the thing

2018-08-05 17:52:32 UTC

That was jewish judges who did that

2018-08-05 17:52:35 UTC

look into it

2018-08-05 17:52:38 UTC

KRITARCHY

2018-08-05 17:52:54 UTC

American Protestantism couldn't be a state entity

2018-08-05 17:53:01 UTC

thats not the way it's structured

2018-08-05 17:53:17 UTC

Quakers, Baptists, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Shakers

2018-08-05 17:53:26 UTC

All these groups couldnt lead a state

2018-08-05 17:53:33 UTC

because they are decentralized and private

2018-08-05 17:53:39 UTC

the way religion should be

2018-08-05 17:53:43 UTC
2018-08-05 17:54:25 UTC

Well it really depends on what you define religion to be. It isnt easy to separate religion from culture, especially in less modern societies

2018-08-05 17:54:41 UTC

Religion plays a huge part in culture and vice versa

2018-08-05 17:55:01 UTC

Personally I am a primitive baptist

2018-08-05 17:55:12 UTC

Yeah I assume that's why the US is going downhill

2018-08-05 17:55:21 UTC

Was it "Iran" in your Catholic school

What a shitty retort

2018-08-05 17:55:34 UTC

Wait what

2018-08-05 17:55:37 UTC

backtrack

2018-08-05 17:55:52 UTC

Religion for europeans doesn't need definition

2018-08-05 17:55:56 UTC

I am just saying you dont want an Iranian style theocracy

2018-08-05 17:55:58 UTC

It's Christianity

2018-08-05 17:56:09 UTC

No that's not what I proposed

2018-08-05 17:56:12 UTC

More specifically, Protestantism

2018-08-05 17:56:23 UTC

Monarchies had cooperation with a churchy

2018-08-05 17:56:30 UTC

It wasnt theocri

2018-08-05 17:56:33 UTC

Theocratic

2018-08-05 17:56:37 UTC

You don't want people taking orders from someone else who runs a state

2018-08-05 17:56:43 UTC

I know. But what im saying is decentralized religions could definitely lead a state if they were to first control the culture. People generally conflate religion to mean Western style religion aka Christianity.

2018-08-05 17:56:45 UTC

England has an official church now!

2018-08-05 17:57:03 UTC

It has had one for the past 1,700 years

2018-08-05 17:57:07 UTC

haha

2018-08-05 17:57:25 UTC
2018-08-05 17:59:25 UTC

You could have an ecumenical council that gives guidance to legislators and give us guidance to people on law - a christian-based ecumenical council that allows different sects to sit at the table sects of Christianity and that Christian Department would inform spiritual guidance morality guidance on those who requested it

2018-08-05 17:59:41 UTC

A spiritual FDA that gives moral and spiritual health to the nation

2018-08-05 18:00:15 UTC

In defining Christianity as the official Faith you weren't requiring people to be Christians but you are keeping that territory free of competing religions
