The illusion that democracy is what it appears to be is ridiculous. It's just a cute fiction
When some titles are hereditary?
You want them to be in conflict, that way they don't get anything done
Because otherwise one group will eventually look to seize control.
Wha-
That is always happening
Look, every system has "undemocratic" authority behind it somewhere
It's an omnipresent reality of power
Somebody will be in charge either openly or behind the scenes and if people get in the way of the Elite's agenda then the elite will deal with them or be replaced by a new elite
Better to have the elites out in the open
@campodin it would be more honest
That's why I want an aristocratic class
Well we have one but it's secret
And their agenda blows
Did you watch distributists why he doesn't vote video?
That finally started black pilling me on voting
I just want voting as an opiate for the masses
Let them feel like they have some say
I mean there's no PROBLEM with voting I suppose, like if you like a candidate vote for them
But just keep it real
@campodin and I think the Distributist was very naive to think that regular people can scare politicians with letters and phone calls
Like to actually cause them to change their agenda
At best they'll hesitate a bit and reevaluate when the time to act is
Yeah, they just care to appease their base
If you aren't the targeted base, then they don't care
The agenda is decided by people above their paygrade who gave them the job
The politicians don't decide their own platform
At most they can abstain on unimportant issues
Sure
I will admit that there's probably a genuine split between the Democratic and Republican elites and their agendas, I mean both are similar but they have distinct plans
So there is real tension there
Depends who you are talking about. Establishment Republicans and dems have the same agenda
That's what I meant
I still think there's variation
Well, I think they have to maintain a different brand for the public
The rep elites would go for free trade, less regulations, less public programs, and more war
I think Dem elites would differ on these issues
Why do the reps never do it when they have the power then?
It's almost a way for the elite to play good cop and bad cop in a way, like when they need to launch a war they can pin it on the Republicans, then flip back to the Dems after and act like they were innocent
And the dems aren't even antiwar, look how Obama was elected on that platform. Took him forever to do anything on that front
Ooh, that good cop bad cop is really good
