If you're so base you cant find satisfaction elsewhere you don't deserve the title of human

2019-08-04 13:20:41 UTC

^^^^ when you just commit the naturalistic fallacy like it ain't a big deal

2019-08-04 16:59:29 UTC

hello there. new here, read rules and roles. how to start doing staff? what topics are the most discussed and/or "main"?

2019-08-04 20:17:14 UTC

we just go from point to point

2019-08-04 20:18:22 UTC

@Farao Ramses II race realism like 19th century anthropology is actually becoming more popular within the scientific consensus due to genetic research being done and PCA analysis on fst distance

2019-08-04 20:18:49 UTC

Intriguing.

2019-08-04 20:18:59 UTC

19th century anthropology is being vindicated

2019-08-04 20:18:59 UTC

I believed we discussed that before though.

2019-08-04 20:19:03 UTC

maybe

2019-08-04 20:19:17 UTC

We talked about sub-populations and what not.

2019-08-04 20:21:01 UTC

I don't recall the exact details or meat of the conversation, but I do recall that it didn't change my stance in regard to my politics, considering an appeal to the science was very much an appeal to nature.

2019-08-04 20:21:41 UTC

In other words: to me it seems like one giant naturalistic fallacy.

2019-08-04 20:22:30 UTC

no, not really, categories are only justified through the utility but the common argument against race realism is that it doesnt comport with nature

2019-08-04 20:22:36 UTC

now its obvious it does

2019-08-04 20:22:53 UTC

now what you ought to do with that information is different

2019-08-04 20:23:04 UTC

I conceded that point to an extend if I recall correctly. But again: unclear on the details.

2019-08-04 20:23:30 UTC

but whatever utility you do or dont derive, the category agrees with ontological justified categories of observation

2019-08-04 20:24:06 UTC

To me it seems silly we should enforce any racial policy solely based on the fact that apparently their are some real genetic differences between certain races/sub-populations.

2019-08-04 20:24:51 UTC

sure, i wont contest what you think ought to be done or not on tis

2019-08-04 20:25:57 UTC

And I won't contest the science of apparent genetic differences between certain races/sub-populations, for I am no genetic scientist.

2019-08-04 20:26:17 UTC

Nor am I all too well informed on the subject.

2019-08-04 20:28:09 UTC

It's just that I deem people's individual liberties to be of more import. Unless you could demonstrate to me that having such genetically diverse sub-populations live together in one society, would be catastrophic, I am not convinced we ought to worry all that much.

2019-08-04 20:28:59 UTC

And that being catastrophic solely or mostly due to their severe genetic differences, I have to clarify.

2019-08-04 20:29:50 UTC

it has a negative effect on social cohesion, political stability and positive political participation

2019-08-04 20:30:01 UTC

but you probably care for liberty more

2019-08-04 20:30:04 UTC

which is fair enough
