"Cult of personality" is a massively overused buzzword.
Mao and Stalin had cults of personality and the Kim dynasty has a cult of personality.
However, most "cults of personality" are much more mundane.
Worshiping Trump as God-Emperor is a meme and no one takes it seriously.
That's the best way to describe a cult of personality.
