The thing was most of the founding fathers were Diest.
They believed in God, but did not accept divine intervention.

They also site the fact that the original constitution (the one on display) ends with 1776 A.D. as proof that there is religious undertones in the Constitution.

The issue with that is all legal documents to this day end in AD

that was his justification for calling for the prayer before the convention, which is why that gets brought up
