The democrats historically have always lived by "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." They might hate other democrats in their party or that are running, but any Progressive, would take a moderate democrat, over any other party. (And vice versa)

it's clear Heidkamp and McCaskill are trying to distance themselves from her
