Yeah that's the goal
I mean we're not the ones in office doing anything
This is why we have these tariffs in the first place, so exporting to the Chinese won't be much more costly than importing from them
Trump is
Not much we can do other than debate
And he's said that he wants this with the EU
It's all right in front of us
That'd be nice
Getting free trade with the EU
But morons like Rand Paul go and complain about "ThiS iSn'T dA FrEe mArkET" even though in the end there'd be much less trade barriers after Trump finishes up
Fucking shortsighted idiot libertarians
Eh
Anyways, Trump knows what he's doing, it's a matter of "can he pull this off quick enough"
Yeah
We'll have to see, but I have my faith, he's pulled off some miracles before.
But the deals have to go through congress and all, no?
They'd probably get stonewalled
Yeah, and if democrats reject a good deal, it reflects terribly on *them* in the elections
If Trump gives them the keys to end the trade war and they fumble it, the blame goes to them instead of Trump
>So?
Why would dem voters know they rejected a good deal
What
Sorry didn't type fast enough
It's not about dem voters
It kind of is
It's about moderate Americans concerned about the "trade war"
That lean dem
Lefties will be lefties, but these are the people that matter
false
But if Trump wins this and/or the dems screw it up they're likely to move right?
Is what you're saying?
It's a Catch-22. Either the dems pass the trade deal, giving Trump a major political victory, boosting his approval, which will put more Rs in Congress. And if they don't pass it, they take the blame for not ending the trade war, the working class gets angry at them, more Rs end up in Congress.
That's the dynamic of if Trump has to send them a trade deal, it can only end well for us
So a longer version of what I said
eh
It's not about ideology when it comes to the farmers, whoever they see fuck this up will get retribution.
A longer version of what I meant*
Whether it's the farmers or the WWC
