im just saying their is a lot of illusions taking place when we look out over a body of water
Yeet
?
Yes
whats yeet lol
oh ok
so lots of illusions taking place out there
it's the furry way of saying yes
but the boats going over the curve is real
why that one thing
thats the only thing thats real out there everything else is an illusion
the cherry picked observations
they cherry picked
I mean you didn't say *everything else* is an illusion, you yourself said *lots of things* are an illusion
It's unclear whether or not boats are passing over the horizon or not.
You have two positions here:
i) Boats are in fact passing over the horizon.
ii) Boats passing over the horizon is an illusion, therefore the illusion needs an explanation, or an alternative solution.
Now, the way we test such things is by constructing both a hypothesis, and a null-hypothesis
What that basically means is that we analyze what we would *expect* to see if one of the positions were true
And the counter-position would then become the null-hypothesis
the explenation is they appear to be going over the horizon but its perspective angular resolution and refraction that appear to be making the boat look like its going over the curve
What kind of experiment would you look for?
i would also throw the inverse square law into the perspective refraction and angular resolution as to why the boats appear to be going over a curve
some sort of proof that it would be possible to see chicago from michigan from behind a curve an experiment that proved that
I..I mean. You could get a buddy who lives near the lake and tell them to take a picture at different elevations and see how much of the buildings you can and can't see
Then crunch the numbers and see if they match reality
more experiments should be done before we start assuming things
i dont think their could even be curved water int he first place
im not a flat earther but im not a globe earther either
i want some proof
@jeremy tides prove water isn't flat over large bodied
Uhm
You know water drops are curved, right..?
the ocean is curved and water drops are curved are you saying they are curved for the same reason ?
More or less, yes
Those are different causes
gravity is pulling the water to the center of earth so the water droplet is curved ?
No the drop is surface tension
or is it surface tension
yeah i know
It's falling bc of gravity
