For something cheaper that I used on a 308, I have this USNV 441
gen 3 autogated tube it comes with an IR IR illuminator as well that attaches to the other side
not as versatile but you get a clean picture, and magnification

@boogboy912 it's a lot more useful to equip and train good weapon light use than to try to use cheaper and older gen 2 night vision
