If there's enough air flow taking heat away from the block you could roll away for a good while, but pushing the engine will cut short the time you have
In reality, it depends on the engine and the climate and what you can do to repair that, if anything. If you're driving something like an old VW, they're air cooled so they don't even have a radiator. If you're driving a modern car, they'll throw some weird code and scream at you til it started siezing up and messing up the actual cylinder
A few months ago I had a pushrod that pole vaulted to the moon by way of the valve cover. I managed to drive it for 10ish miles spraying oil everywhere and losing power but it cost me that engine
If you have a bullet hole in the radiator roll the window down and turn up the heater to max blast.
And if you have the ability to pull over, you can crack an egg in the radiator to let that gum it up til you can get a proper patch
Or replacement
That's the easiest way to get as much heat as you can go, limp it as much as possible until you get to a safe zone. Also. JB weld. I have JB welded quite a couple of radiators for a temporary fix.
Not done jb much myself but I really need to add it to the kit.
Definitely, always a useful tool.
601 area MS boi here, been in auto repair for 6 years now. Happy to help when and where I can
ASE certified tech, 4 years experience professionally but ive been working on cars since I could walk. happy to help where i can in the 412/724 area.
Do I qualify?
Used to get a trailer high enough to slide a standard hitch on it, rather than a drop hitch
Local 316 mechanik. Can get anything running down the road for a period of time.
Since discussion had already started, im thinking my go to heavy vehicle will be a chevy express panel van. If you can find a one ton extended, you can easily upfit to have some sort of armor inside and still fit your light vehicle (dirtbike) and have room for ammunition and arms. Plus you have the bulletproof GM 6.0
And I may be biased, GM tech.
I’m planning on going to my work and grabbing the brand new 10 wheel Mack dump truck I driver everyday
I’m also a heavy equipment operator and have keys to every piece of equipment. So I’ll just grab a trailer and load up a dozer too while I’m at it lol
Could honestly be one hell of an APV
True. The 6.0 doesnt really break, theyll go 500k+ if you let them
Sorry guys this is the only place a I REALLY fit in at the current moment
Shit me too. I know how to shoot handle and clean guns but I don't know them like some of these guys do. Don't know shit about comms or medical. So this is pretty much the only place I even know what's being talked about
I can shoot and handle myself but I dont think i'll be much use mentally in the field. I could figure out comms if I needed to but i havent devoted time to learn yet. I feel medical should be left to those trained in medical
Im definitely more of a hang out and fix whats broken type
Yeah. I'm a decent shot but I am definitely not actually trained in anything
Well not everyone is gonna be out dropping bodies
^^^
It’ll still function like a society
I definitely agree with that
You won’t have medics and surgeons going in recon missions
Specialties will be much needed
Everybody has their place
That’s why I’m going through all of these channels
I’m a fucking 20 year old who did sports in HS and plays video games
I don’t know Jack shit
no need to feel discouraged, everybody will have their part
I'm trying to get well versed in a variety of fields so I'm not a one trick pony, if you will
That’s what I’m banking on
I’ve tried multiple things before, mechanics, tech, I took 4 years of engineering for fucks sake 😂
