Could bad injectors cause a gas smell under the hood or would that more likely be a gasket valve or fuel line?

Friend is saying there's a gas smell toward the front of the vehicle. Haven't had a chance to look at the vehicle just trying to figure out some basic spots to check once I get to the car

make sure any and all fuel lines are secured, and not cracked, things like that

always start with things you can see and easily work on, then worry about causes that entail taking shit apart
