Yeah, that's what he was asking about. Some of them do still work

2020-05-11 22:39:30 UTC

The howard leights will also mount to the ARC rail on a helmet I think

2020-05-11 22:39:43 UTC

Peltors will as well...

2020-05-11 22:40:15 UTC

And you can get a set of used peltors for a few hundred, almost not worth trying to janky a setup together.

2020-05-11 22:40:22 UTC

Pretty big price difference though.

2020-05-11 22:41:13 UTC

I have to equip two people, so even used that gets super expensive

2020-05-11 22:42:22 UTC

Just get a lapel mic with in ear and put it under the muffs, bunch of people I know do that.

2020-05-11 23:49:36 UTC

@Rawhide that’s exactly what I was trying to do. Thanks!!. I have Howard Leight impact sports like in the video and I have rifleman opmod muffs I got off OpticsPlanet. Not sure if it would work well with the opmods but I’ll test them out.

2020-05-11 23:57:44 UTC

@EDDSkitz I’ll try that out too. I’m going to see which is more comfortable

2020-05-12 01:43:37 UTC

> Something like this but instead of the ear piece it’s an aux plug
@RooftopKorean
I'm running that thing lol with some sure fire ear plugs that fit the tip

2020-05-12 01:49:16 UTC

Gunshot blocking electronic earmuffs that double as radio headphones would be mint to have.

2020-05-12 01:50:00 UTC

@Bogs_Bunny pretty sure that’s a thing

2020-05-12 01:51:12 UTC

@[MS] Foxtrot795 you're probably right. Not super high priority for me right now since I got some cheap hearing protection that does the job.

2020-05-12 01:52:30 UTC

Same. I wouldn’t mind having a pair 😂

2020-05-12 02:02:39 UTC

It exists but I see them for like $600 🙃

2020-05-12 02:03:43 UTC

My electronic ear muffs cost $30-$40 then I just clip on a mic and plug the aux into them and it works about the same lol

2020-05-12 02:10:13 UTC

@[CA] SoyBoi that might actually work pretty well lol. Don’t need to wear earmuffs under the helmet just some light plugs lol

2020-05-12 02:10:32 UTC

“Sonic ear defenders”

2020-05-12 02:11:18 UTC

$25ish for the plug and mic, a hell of a lot cheaper than some 600 headsets lol I gotta save where I can lol

2020-05-12 02:12:56 UTC

I have those surefires already, I didn’t think to use them that way. That’s fucking ingenuitive lol

2020-05-12 02:39:21 UTC

I saw a thread about it (but I had to dig lol)

2020-05-12 06:14:11 UTC

I meant headphones that plug into a radio, not themselves act as a radio.

2020-05-12 19:24:47 UTC

Can someone show me to a dual band antenna for 2m/440 that is actually resonant on both bands?

2020-05-12 19:45:02 UTC

Nagoya NA-320A

Just make sure you buy a real one, there are fakes out there that suck.

2020-05-12 20:15:31 UTC

@EDDSkitz experiencing the fake as we speak

2020-05-12 20:16:28 UTC

Oof... yeah, they reallllly suck

2020-05-12 23:32:06 UTC

Peltors connect to a radio

2020-05-12 23:32:15 UTC

Unless I’m confusing what y’all said

2020-05-12 23:33:27 UTC

Peltor comtac's can... you just need the right PTT for your radio. They make some without comms that are much cheaper, but are just electronic earmuffs

2020-05-12 23:34:27 UTC

Correct

2020-05-12 23:34:32 UTC

I got the dual comms

2020-05-12 23:35:01 UTC

What radio you have?

2020-05-12 23:35:20 UTC

UV-5T

2020-05-12 23:35:23 UTC

R

2020-05-12 23:35:41 UTC

I haven’t upgraded yet, need a recommendation if you’ve got one

2020-05-12 23:36:04 UTC

You'll need that to use peltors with civilian radios

2020-05-12 23:36:54 UTC

The baofeng radios are more than most would ever need in reality... they have other models that are waterproof

2020-05-12 23:38:39 UTC

Well it’s actually kit so I need something decent

2020-05-12 23:38:47 UTC

It’s on my list

2020-05-12 23:38:58 UTC

I’ve got a peltor ptt for my .mil radio
