Much appreciation

pay 10 bucks and get a ham radio license. if you use them inna woods you'll probably be ok, it's not worth their resources to triangulate where you are if you're just hunting and camping. *not that I would advocate for doing anything illegal*

2020-05-20 18:23:19 UTC

I strongly recommend getting your ham license. It's not hard and it's a fun hobby that's useful when SHTF

Whata a good starting radio something i can put on my side or pc

2020-05-20 20:37:38 UTC

Been looking at baofeng

2020-05-20 21:10:58 UTC

Baofeng is the usual starter... Retevis RT82 is under 200 and does 128 bit encryption

2020-05-20 21:29:21 UTC

Radio encryption is illegal for us peasants

2020-05-20 21:29:48 UTC

Lmfao... that is completely wrong

2020-05-20 21:29:56 UTC

It has changed?

2020-05-20 21:30:12 UTC

Never was... always a misconception.

2020-05-20 21:30:25 UTC

Not legal on certain frequencies

2020-05-20 21:30:28 UTC

Why did they try to legalize it in a bill then?

2020-05-20 21:31:03 UTC

No clue what you're talking about... again most people don't understand the rules, politicians especially

2020-05-20 21:31:34 UTC

Hmm if so that's awesome.

2020-05-20 21:31:45 UTC

Also, never really been any prosecution from "illegal" use of radio frequencies

2020-05-20 21:31:51 UTC

I'd shell out a couple hundo for encrypted radio comms.

2020-05-20 21:32:19 UTC

After my gun stuff is sorted of course.

2020-05-20 21:32:22 UTC

Like, you're not supposed to encrypt ham or FRS channels, but who's gonna catch/find you? No radio police

2020-05-20 21:32:43 UTC

The RT82 sounder $200 for 128bit.

2020-05-20 21:32:48 UTC

HAMs are notorious snitches I've read unfortunately.

2020-05-20 21:32:51 UTC

*is under

2020-05-20 21:33:08 UTC

Yeah, but how will they catch you... they are though, you are correct

2020-05-20 21:33:36 UTC

Radio triangulation if you're broadcasting from home over and over.

2020-05-20 21:33:56 UTC

Yeah,it's physically possible, but by who?

2020-05-20 21:35:03 UTC

Also, you can get your HAM license, use DMR and legally encrypt if you really wanna use those channels.

2020-05-20 21:35:38 UTC

I bought 25 business band itinerant channels years ago,and you can legally encrypt those and don't need a license

2020-05-20 21:35:57 UTC

@Recon_5.11 I shared that last week... VERY good basic intro

2020-05-20 21:36:06 UTC

This is live right now

2020-05-20 21:36:17 UTC

It's not that same video

2020-05-20 21:36:30 UTC

Oh, they are doing another live stream, nice

2020-05-20 21:36:36 UTC

Yessir

2020-05-20 21:39:38 UTC

Hmm it utilizes DMR. I'm unfamiliar with that radio type

2020-05-20 21:39:56 UTC

DMR is just digital

2020-05-20 21:40:01 UTC

Oh you already said that

2020-05-20 21:40:25 UTC

T-Rex talked about this last week, definitely something everyone should look into

http://js8call.com/

2020-05-20 21:40:47 UTC

Yeah, DMR can be radio to radio, doesn't need the internet

2020-05-20 21:41:49 UTC

Radio to radio encrypted texting sounds orgasmic.

2020-05-20 21:42:21 UTC

Yeah, just remember they really only have the same range as any 5-10 watt radio

2020-05-20 21:45:14 UTC

Damnit I can't afford to start finding more crap for my wish list lmao

2020-05-20 21:45:47 UTC

😂
