@Sparrow I'm intrigued by the Caniks thanks for the heads up. Looks pretty solid for the money

Not a problem man, I love them personally. And I've carried and shot a handful of different pistols. They are a really nice bang for buck setup.

2020-05-01 03:45:59 UTC

don't think there's gonna be a glock ar, nothing on google

2020-05-01 03:46:22 UTC

if there was, I'd envision billet receivers made to look like legos

2020-05-01 04:05:40 UTC

Glock AR's would be polymer lowers like the GWACS

2020-05-01 04:09:52 UTC

Or weird GWACS/Carbon 15 hybrids

Got my new upper in, the blue shit are "prototype" guards and a foregrip I'm working on

Emphasis on prototype because i printed them. lol

pst, but free

2020-05-01 04:14:16 UTC

i can throw my karve in there, but i dont want to take that off my 7.5 300 black out

2020-05-01 04:15:41 UTC

@Crye_Salesman edited for clarification lmao

2020-05-01 04:16:11 UTC

I mean I’m not hoes mad. Although though I’m concerned about the heat

2020-05-01 04:18:17 UTC

it can resist up to 200c, it melts at 240c, if my shit gets that hot... i have other things to worry about and will probably switch to holding the mag well at that point lol

2020-05-01 04:41:00 UTC

What about it’s thermal dissipation/retention?

2020-05-01 04:51:44 UTC

Got a question. If I'm building a rifle that's not intended to be used with armor and to have low recoil, a sporting rifle of sorts, would a fixed stock be more appropriate in order to use a rifle length buffer?

2020-05-01 04:53:34 UTC

Never messed with rifle length receiver extensions before

2020-05-01 04:54:42 UTC

I rifle length buffer won’t be needed depending on buffer weight.

2020-05-01 04:55:45 UTC

The thought that popped into my head was
Adjustable gas block, geissele rifle length spring, jp lightweight buffer, faxon lightweight bcg

2020-05-01 04:56:03 UTC

I don't like fixed stock because length of pull can change depending on terrain and cover, buffer and spring weight can be adjusted with gas to give you lighter impulses

2020-05-01 04:56:28 UTC

Hell, I'd sell you my skeletonized BCG

2020-05-01 04:56:44 UTC

I don't want it because I thought I wanted to make an ultralight build, but decided against it.

2020-05-01 04:57:36 UTC

I know that the faxon one is g2g but a lot of others out there have issues, so I'm leaning towards that

2020-05-01 04:58:45 UTC

Wouldn't be too worried about changing terrain and cover anyway since there likely wouldn't be time to adjust the length

2020-05-01 04:58:55 UTC

Spring length and buffer length don’t matter as much as spring resistance or buffer weight.

2020-05-01 04:59:54 UTC

I understand it helps a little though, so I'm seeing what all I can tweak within reason money wise

2020-05-01 05:00:26 UTC

For a light recoiling gun, you’ll want a pretty resistant spring and a heavier than average buffer.

2020-05-01 05:02:07 UTC

Huh. I read on jp's site that they suggested a lighter buffer when going with a light bcg

2020-05-01 05:02:11 UTC

Heavier buffers would be slower and slam, rather than snap.

2020-05-01 05:02:35 UTC

It’s a real balancing act.

2020-05-01 05:02:40 UTC

Yeah, you'll have to go light and light, because if you have a light BCG, it won't have enough mass to go back and eject the cartridge

2020-05-01 05:02:51 UTC

I've had experience messing with it, it's a pain in the ass.

2020-05-01 05:03:02 UTC

Tuning gas systems can be a bitch

2020-05-01 05:03:24 UTC

@Artemis VLTOR A5 RE is what you want

2020-05-01 05:03:50 UTC

That sounds like it's between carbine and rifle length

2020-05-01 05:03:57 UTC

Heavier buffers are a band aid for overgassed AR’s, you shouldn’t be building a rifle based on that
