I use ceramic lvl 4 plates in my primary gear and a steel/ceramic hybrid plate in my security gear

Lvl 3+

2020-05-02 17:35:57 UTC

I currently have quad bend swimmers cut AR500 plates in my carrier that I unfortunately panic bought in a financial pinch when that shit in Virginia popped off back in January. Now I’m having to buy twice and I can’t due to this shutdown bullshit

2020-05-02 17:37:08 UTC

Oof

2020-05-02 17:39:29 UTC

Yeaaaaaah. Definitely not my brightest idea. So best option at the moment is to buy spall bags for the armor and hope I don’t have to use it before I can buy quality. It was one of those “cheap armor is better than no armor” moments. So I’m gonna probably place an order from hoplite or somewhere similar and just keep my current setup as a truck/car kit.

2020-05-02 17:41:36 UTC

But hey, at least I’m not too proud to admit my fuck up 🤷‍♂️ at least I bought some form of body armor instead of buying all the toilet paper and shit like the rest of the idiots did

2020-05-02 17:46:17 UTC

Yeah you will notice me not be mad sauce over here cause you know what’s up. Glad you’re getting squared away

2020-05-02 17:47:41 UTC

Definitely working on it

2020-05-02 17:48:26 UTC

I need platessssssss

2020-05-02 17:48:35 UTC

I wouldn’t bother getting any bags/backers for the AR500, none of that shit is proven, or actually fixed the problems, just save up for better stuff

2020-05-02 17:48:45 UTC

Anyone try put the RTS tactical IV plates? I bought some because of testing I saw on YT, seems like they held up

2020-05-02 17:48:51 UTC

Hoplite or die tbh

2020-05-02 17:49:09 UTC

I got my lvl 4 ceramic the other day and its almost like magic that it does what it does for that weight

2020-05-02 17:49:14 UTC

😂😂

2020-05-02 17:49:35 UTC

Idk anything about those plates @[CA] SoyBoi, but you should literally never trust YouTube armor reviews haha

2020-05-02 17:50:15 UTC

Initially went off of their compliant claims, but my thing is they're not listed so still iffy lol

2020-05-02 17:50:30 UTC

If they’re not listed they’re not compliant

2020-05-02 17:50:46 UTC

And there is a difference between certified and compliant

2020-05-02 17:51:06 UTC

You right

2020-05-02 17:51:52 UTC

Just checked said their on the Compliant products list 🤔

2020-05-02 17:52:15 UTC

I'm gonna look like some expensive Swiss cheese

2020-05-02 17:52:16 UTC

Working on getting a lot of shit squared away. First picture is the most recent one of my rifle, since this was taken, 45 degree irons have been added and the cable has been taken off and swapped out for a regular end cap. Second was when I got it and all I did was swap out the polymer handguard for the drop in quad rail.

2020-05-02 17:52:35 UTC

@[CA] SoyBoi did you check the actual NIJ list? 🤔

2020-05-02 17:52:53 UTC

@Abe Clark I’ve heard nothing but good about them

2020-05-02 17:53:03 UTC

Hell yeah baby

2020-05-02 17:53:09 UTC

Thank you I was about to have a fucking aneurism with that cable my guy @[MS] Foxtrot795

2020-05-02 17:53:10 UTC

Lyman bishop is a fucking beast

2020-05-02 17:53:49 UTC

@Crye_Salesman yeah but I couldn't find them by name, I messaged them and they said they're not certified by them, but that they exceed the minimum qualifications, and they're going to try to get it in the future

2020-05-02 17:54:03 UTC

*try*

2020-05-02 17:54:07 UTC

Levels of doubt increase

2020-05-02 17:54:32 UTC

I mean it’s a process that takes a little bit, but a reputable company would just wait until the certification had cleared

2020-05-02 17:54:37 UTC

They didn't say try lol
They said "No there isn’t a reason it’s just that Florida has certain regulations and what not but we’re working on getting it in the future"

2020-05-02 17:54:41 UTC

Still iffy tho

2020-05-02 17:55:03 UTC

@Crye_Salesman initially, it was actually down the handguard and was neatly done with the carbine length guard, then I got the full length and had it like this because I misplaced my regular cap but found it a day or two later.

2020-05-02 17:55:45 UTC

Yeah there’s uh, just no reason to have the pressure pad all the way back there bro

2020-05-02 17:57:06 UTC

2020-05-02 17:57:24 UTC
