Hudson H9 is the perfected 1911 (IN MY OPINION!)

Except for reliability problems from a company that no longer exists and can't honor warranties or even make replacement parts. They shoot awesome, I love them. But they have an expiration date and it isn't very long.

while kicking around ideas, I'm also considering a 308 build as I've already got a 16" ar and building an 18" sorta feels like it would be inferior to 308 for my purpose at that point

They Hudson we had when I worked at the range was great, right up until it broke its extractor, which is a common problem. Its been in a box on a shelf for a year because parts aren't available

Mine hasn’t had a flaw since it’s had some love. They can be a bitch at times but if you put a little love in them (the love they didn’t put in them at the factory) they run fantastic.

And they are pretty “tacti-cool”
