Just needed to say, that I hate BAD levers. I'm not worried about dropping a mag or NDing, I just think they're dumb, they get it the way and another thing to get snagged on.

I've never seen how a BAD lever can cause excessive wear on the BCG or anything else.
Training issues though, I can vouch for that one.

Question to my armor lads; looking to get a new vest, and i want something that is comfortable to train in (physically, not just range)

Another spot where im torn; when i do get another nice carrier, id rather it only be for training days at the range and stuff, not necessarily the vest im wearing to go on a long run or roll around in the sand with

I mean, you wanna train in what you plan on fighting in... a good carrier will take the abuse

Actually I'm due for an upgrade, running an old TAG full coverage carrier. I dont like the JPC.

I was looking at the first spear AAC, but they have been out of stock for a few months. Probably because they just got a military contract and are running production for that.

I've tried both the AAC and the crye CPC, I like both.

The JPC is a minimalist carrier though

They are super top notch stuff if you have the cash... the only reason I was looking and waiting on the AAC is the buckles. Would've spent my trump bucks on it, but decided to wait and see if they came back in stock. Replaced my RMA plates with some level IV hoplite plates instead.

Thinking of a 10/22 as my first gun when I get state side, not really done much shooting except clays and a 22 would be cheap to learn the fundamentals right?

Gettingnl tired of my shit falling appart when i need it, need suggestions for a decent pair of every day shoes or boots that will last more than a few months before the tread seperates from the rest of the shoe

Ive got Danner boots, and hiking boots that last, Merrill also lasts...

I try and catch 140-200 boots on sale, buy 2 pairs

I've got a pair of redwing blacksmith boots. They're not made for hiking but work well enough. The only downside seems to be they're a bit slick on smooth floors. Otherwise they're made to last years and years.
Plenty of other good boots out there though, I'd suggest watching some videos from Carl Murawski. They review a lot of boots and other clothes that are made to last for life.

Yeah an $80 pair of boots won't last you. Hell a $150 pair of boots might last a year or two of regular walking on pavement

You don't really get into those 8-10 year boots until you hit 300 or more. Sometimes on sale

granted if they're for work they probably won't even last that long, depending on what you do

I'm a heavy industrial mechanic/electrician... I only get 3 years out of a pair of RW

There's only so much stress that leather and rubber can take after all

But yeah I'd definitely suggest looking at Carl Murawski's youtube channel. They've been in construction for a long time and know a good bit about clothes that last, and practical fashion

I work in IT at a grain mill, so I'm in a lot of different environments from an office to mills full of giant industrial machinery, so I found a happy balance with the redwing heritage blacksmith boot. It's not a workboot, but still durable enough to take life. At least so far, haven't had them too long.
