DEATH METAL IS THE GATEWAY

2017-04-12 14:46:51 UTC

TO ANNIHILATION

2017-04-12 15:14:39 UTC

Angry Italians in the comments should be a marker one way or the other.

2017-04-12 15:14:45 UTC

looks like it uses garlic, dalit

2017-04-12 15:15:08 UTC

Garlic is aristocratic af

2017-04-12 15:15:17 UTC

If it tastes good or is pleasurable it is dalit

2017-04-12 15:17:08 UTC

Which is why CLIF bars are so popular with aristocrats.

2017-04-12 15:17:37 UTC

They taste like topsoil.

2017-04-12 15:20:40 UTC

I wonder what the causes of enjoying dull things are.

2017-04-12 15:24:05 UTC

Keeping up with appearances

2017-04-12 15:24:26 UTC

The need to stand out among others

2017-04-12 15:24:37 UTC

LOOK AT ME I RENOUNCE PLEASURE.

2017-04-12 15:24:52 UTC

I am better than you nenernerner

2017-04-12 15:33:47 UTC

Hm. In private that means vulnerability to slide into hedonism.

2017-04-12 15:33:54 UTC

To balance things.

2017-04-12 15:49:03 UTC

I'd expect that honestly

2017-04-12 15:49:26 UTC

On the other hand

2017-04-12 15:50:39 UTC

it could be a genuine position taken out of a reaction to a bad thing: hedonistic consumerism. The thing is, ascetic renunciation is also a bad thing.

2017-04-12 16:20:25 UTC

A reason why metal sucks now is that artists step into the studio to "make metal" . More specifically, a type of metal. It's about the concept now rather than the sensation. Every new development prior was precipitated by the rejection of some earlier concept in favor of concrete sensations with little mind of what exactly to call it. The press and labels just sell the concept to people, it's almost always been this way. There are few if any musicians in metal interested purely in musical sensation, it's always a goal to work within some concept that already exists.

2017-04-12 16:21:07 UTC

the surface took over from the substance

2017-04-12 16:22:50 UTC
2017-04-12 16:23:16 UTC

and it's imitative instead of pioneering

2017-04-12 16:23:20 UTC

That's because there is little substance left to be mined out of the ground that hasn't already been covered. At least in an economical sense.

2017-04-12 16:23:29 UTC

maybe

2017-04-12 16:23:38 UTC

i think there's plenty of ground left

2017-04-12 16:23:45 UTC

but it would require going into new topics

2017-04-12 16:23:49 UTC

keeping the metal outlook

2017-04-12 16:24:04 UTC

you're talking lyrics and themes right

2017-04-12 16:24:07 UTC

I mean are there really any other "metal" sensations left that relate to the metal Outlook that haven't been covered

2017-04-12 16:24:15 UTC

No I mean strictly musical

2017-04-12 16:24:22 UTC

That ineffable feeling

2017-04-12 16:24:28 UTC

That evades description

2017-04-12 16:27:03 UTC

New topics won't help because those topics would be presented in a way that's already rounded out. So you'd just be shoving more instances into an essence that's tapped out

2017-04-12 16:29:11 UTC

i think so but i have no evidence either way

2017-04-12 16:30:14 UTC
