i agree in theory, you know your enemy but you simply set towards your goals in a positive way. but when it comes to getting attacked or blocked by your enemy, what's the answer there? are we only allowed to use clever tactics to get what we want without ever having to directly engage in something negative? or is it just a matter of timing?

i can see the argument for patience and building more foundation first, and seamlessly taking over as the environment becomes suitable. kind of the nrx approach. that's leaving lots to chance and underestimates the opposition though in my opinion. but i also like all strategies. the more the better.
