i subscribe to the conspiracy theory that we are being poisoned not directly but by how they enable nonsense that does pop up, and discredit traditional common sense views. so they didn't invent these things at a think tank somewhere. all that's needed is to selectively enforce and incentivize naturally occurring degenerate behaviors.
