GOOGLE IS ALL THIRD WORLDED TOO
looking up "first/second/third world" definitions is interesting
because by definition, to be first world you need democracy
you need many things for top notch status that are actually insane
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_World
```The concept of First World originated during the Cold War and included countries that were generally aligned with NATO and opposed to the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the definition has instead largely shifted to any country with little political risk and a well functioning democracy, rule of law, capitalist economy, economic stability and high standard of living. Various ways in which modern First World countries are often determined include GDP, GNP, literacy rates, life expectancy, and the Human Development Index.[1] In common usage, as per Merriam-Webster, "first world" now typically refers to "the highly developed industrialized nations often considered the westernized countries of the world".[2]```
1. it openly is just "the white standard" (see last line)
note that HDI factors into this definition:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Development_Index
```The Human Development Index (HDI) is a composite statistic (composite index) of life expectancy, education, and per capita income indicators, which are used to rank countries into four tiers of human development. A country scores higher HDI when the lifespan is higher, the education level is higher, and the GDP per capita is higher. The HDI was developed by Pakistani economist, Mahbub ul Haq, for the UNDP.[1][2]
The 2010 Human Development Report introduced an Inequality-adjusted Human Development Index (IHDI). While the simple HDI remains useful, it stated that "the IHDI is the actual level of human development (accounting for inequality)", and "the HDI can be viewed as an index of 'potential' human development (or the maximum IHDI that could be achieved if there were no inequality)".
The index is based on the human development approach, developed by Ul Haq, often framed in terms of whether people are able to "be" and "do" desirable things in life. Examples include—Beings: well fed, sheltered, healthy; Doings: work, education, voting, participating in community life. It must also be noted that the freedom of choice is central—someone choosing to be hungry (e.g. during a religious fast) is quite different to someone who is hungry because they cannot afford to buy food.[3]```
by definition the goal for us is to improve the Western world from first world to second world
ANOTHER OPTION FOR REACHING PEOPLE: LOW POWER RADIO http://archive.fo/ECrqg
I really wonder about that in the post charlottesville internet world
hey prozak
serious question
BY FIRST WORLD, I JUST MEAN ORGANIZED INDUSTRIALIZED SOCIETY
why could meshnet not be done over radio waves?
AFTER CHARLOTTESVILLE, THERE WILL BE MORE CENSORSHIP BUT ULTIMATELY THEY ARE LOSING THAT BATTLE
LONG AGO, IT WAS
AT LEAST
PEOPLE USED A HAM RADIO MODEM INTERFACE
IN THEORY THE SAME COULD BE DONE
THERE IS A REASON WI-FI USES THE HIGHER FREQUENCIES HOWEVER
I feel like that would solve some problems
or rather they could lean on the fact that long distance transmission with home operated tech has already been long since accomplished for HAM
THAT DOES RAISE SOME INTERESTING POINTS
ALSO
A MESH OF LOW POWER FM STATIONS
